Looking to buy some new car mats.
When I get them, I can clip the front ones in place, but am short of a couple of clips for the rears. Tried for over an hour to find matching ones (round with straight screwdriver slot in top – were OEM from dealer), but no luck. Do the universal ones work OK? ???

I only have the clips on the drivers mat, the others don,t move much anyway. :y
-
They were still available from dealers last summer as I got some for mine. (Have to buy a bag of 10 thou.)

I did give some of them to TB a while back. Don't know if he used them or they went into orbit !!! ;)
-
Anyone got the part number for the clips? As I need some as well.

They are safe and sound holding the rear mats of TBE in place :)

If I were to sneak my dusty car mats into the washing machine, would they survive?
Also, aside from putting it in the bath, is there a good way to clean the boot carpet?

If its oily use degreaser otherwise I’ve always used pressure washer on mats .come up like new

I put the boot carpet in the washing machine too. It came up nicely, although I think it shrunk little bit. ;)

Unless you use genuine VX mats, you fight a never ending battle to keep them in place because they are not moulded to fit the floor. I don't have the securing clips on my Vauxhall front or rear rubber mats, although I do prefer the rubber mats rather than the velour type which without clips do tend slide all over the place more than the rubber. The rubber mats don't tend to move much because of the ribbing on the rear. The drivers does move forward very slightly but thecfoottest stops it going very far.
The rear rubber mats are now NLS I believe, although the fronts are still available (or they were until quite recently).

Car mats in washing machine - yes, but use a low temp setting and no spin (and dry outside on line). They don't fit in easily either. Too much faff, so I use my 25yr old Vax.
Boot carpet (before LPG) used to get VAX'd as well, obviously cant now due to somebody bolting an 80l tank through it.
