Title: Vectra c fault codes
Post by: 05omegav6 on 06 November 2010, 09:58:02
Car is a '58 plate 1.8 vvt manual.

The problems are as follows: 1. flat spot whilst cruising.
                             2. sometimes won't start when hot, turn over but     doesn't fire. Will start eventually.

Possibly related? Think might be cam sensors.
Have done pedal trick and showing 2 codes, 1613 and 1616.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

Al.

1613 and 1616 are related - immobiliser signal and wrong id. This can be a faulty key chip or cleaning I think but if you have other issues and car is ok then maybe old codes?

As regards other issues maybe read these links first.

Thanx pscocoa.

That makes some sort of sense. The car has just had a second key programmed, so guess something isn't quite right there. :-/

Ecu update also make sense, had 3 on my 1.9 cdti vectra a couple of years ago, didn't make much difference to it, but car was a total bucket of hummus anyway. >:(

Will try that first though as car is still under warranty it's probably best not to tweak the airbox. :-/ Not that they would notice, coz they wouldn't change the air filter so they'd never see it... ;D

Cheers again, enjoy weekend. :y
