When I had my merc I when for the biggest battery that could fit in the boot 780cca

I would measure the tray then look for the biggest you can get. I recently bought a new batt for the v70 which I swapped over before getting rid of it as it a had a 4yr guarantee

Me too. Allways the biggest that I can fit it

If some oil goes to spark plug hole the sparks will be poor. Remove the spark plug wires and check they are clean without oil

When the alternator doesn't charge will light on the battery light. You must check it with voltmeter. Normal is around 13V or 14V.

If this is correct is probably a slow discharge by a little consumption. With the engine stop and car close check with ammeter the consumption. Normally 0'04A
