just checked power at the fuse conection and getting full 13 volts

That's not really enough, and points to a charging issue. Checking all of the battery and alternator connections is now first on your list of things to do.

And another round on the merits or otherwise, especially on V6s, of old-fashioned paper oilfilters.

Queuing 30minutes at the tip to get rid of junk is far less frustrating than trying to sell it. Any advert for cheap stuff is an open invitation for all the nutters, cheapskates and other time wasters to come to your house and waste oppsing hours of your time.

Does anybody think it Could this be injector related possibly

No.

Go over the vacuum system again, ensuring that it's piped correctly and that there are no leaks as that is by far the most likely cause of your problem.

Whta sort of press do you have, Doc? It seems a useful skill to have to replace failed bushes.

I use a cheap 10ton floor standing press from Machine Mart. But the press is the easy bit: look at any working press, and you'll find an assortment of plates, tubes and other fixtures to actually use the thing. It's not a tool that gets used very often, but the saving in time and effort can pay for it quickly.

I have just been out with a torch any my battery light is actually showing green when i originally thought it was black

Those indicators work best with a piece of insulating tape over them. Then they can't fool you that a duff battery is any good.

Is there not a recommended procedure involving decompression before dismantling? Having worked on and in both fighter and large transport aircraft for 40 odd years, this was invariably the case. But perhaps for light aircraft there is no set procedure in this instance. :-\ :-\ :-\

Entirely carelessness on my part. And it's not something I am likely to do again.

It's off a big Cessna.
The wheel is in three pieces, inner and outer like you would expect, plus a central spacer for the inner tube to push against; all clamped together by nine nuts and bolts that also hold the brake disc. I had the tyre between my knees, and got four of the bolts out before the pressure started pushing the assembly apart, jamming the remaining ones in place. The eighth nut was what hit me in the face, and the five stuck bolts were bent about thirty degrees. They're high-quality 3/8", which should give some idea of the force involved. I had to use a cut-off wheel to get them out.

It could have been very painful. And expensive.

Has anybody ever put NOX on a V6 Omega ??

Runs for the door  ;D ;D ;D

What good would NOX do? You've been watching too many Fast and Furious films, and misheard "Noss" which refers to a brand of N2O(nitrous oxide) injection. Depending on how good the V6 pistons are, for a few hundred quid you could probably get a 75hp increase for a few seconds at a time.

Clean and regrease the bearings on the wheels, and we're changing the brake discs, so remove old ones.

OK

So after doing the bearings on the first wheel, I started on the 9 nuts and bolts retaining the disc. Which got harder the more I undid, and the last bolts didn't fall out.

Then there was a loud bang, and something hit me in the face.

Some utter oppswit had forgotton to let the bloody tyre down  :o :o :o :o

So that's five bent bolts at a tenner each, and a very scary moment.

You should also check the viscous coupling on the fan.

They're all common BMW parts, and are available at any factors in the country.

Nigel, most MOT testers mark the mentioned areas with a paint marker so it should be obvious. The chassis rail will be above the subframe mounts where several panels meet.

In thirty years time, the remaining Omegas will be as valuable and sought after as Crestas, Viscounts and VX4/90s are today.
They're worthless today and good ones are still easy to find so values aren't likely to rise for some time. Rarity coupled with demand is what causes price increases, and the demand for a 20 year old Omega is already non existent.

To be honest, if you think how things work with classic cars, the Omega has the biggest chance of any Opel/Vauxhall to become a classic. It was the last RWD Opel. Just give it time;)

I doubt any of us will live that long.

How long do you figure could take? I doubt anybody in the 80's were going around saying 80's Escort and Fiestas would be classics. Yet, 30 years later...

So the Omega's turn might come and I might not even be 60 then. I'm counting on still being around. :y

Omegas have no image to make them attractive as a short term, let alone a long term bet, and are currently worth nothing. In thirty years the couple of dozen survivors will be just like all the big Vauxhalls of the sixties and seventies are now: a curiosity. Even the Lotus Carlton hasn't lifted the profile of ordinary Carltons/Senators.
