All 4 doors are a torx screw at each end from inside then slide the towards the front of the car, they just drop off then. Wings strips are a single 10mm nut behind the arch liner but take the repeaters out first :y

Is that the same for mfl's Lee? :-?

I always very slightly tighten any fast fixing, either nut/bolt/screw, and also, if felt necessary, give a sharp tap on the head, after soaking in release fluid also. This usually allows relatively easy removal. In some circumstances, but possibly not in this case, it is feasible to take advantage of the different coefficients of expansion of ally vs steel and make an application of heat to expand the surrounding alloy. :y

PS I'm not trying to teach grandmothers to suck eggs, but speak from a background of an aircraft engineer for 40 years. :y

Exactement, why I wondered how much VX would have charged ;D ;D ;D

It's around a £200 option on an Astra H VXR  :o

Possibly more work rqd. I'd like to see the original options list. Amazed I haven't still got it. I keep everything else. ;D ;D ;D

I was fascinated to read on another thread that to fit Cruise to a td only requires a stalk. Can anyone remember how much VX charged if not fitted as standard? IIRC the CDX & Elite were standard.

Just remembered the second thing, has anyone got the part number for the water pump for a '99 2.5td?

TIA :y

Thanks very much Mick, very helpful. :y :y :y

93179365 is the part number for my pump, but mine is a facelift. Can someone confirm are they the same for preface, if that's what you have?

Thanks Mick. I suspect that mine might be different on the 2.5. :y :y :y

You're talking 2.5 as in 2.5TD? so am I. That's what the part number is for.  I had mine replaced earlier this year, just took the number off the box. :y

Mick ;)

Sorry, I misread your profile ::) ::) ::)

as it happens i repaired my tensioner the other day!! ok its not the puley that is the problem nor the arm its the damn spring loaded tensioner, what happens is the plastic around the top and bottom eyes wears, this allows the finite movement of the spring to lose its tension as its almost fully extended when the plastic wears!!
I made some bushes out of copper pipe cut in half, and inserted them under the metal eye on the bottom one and on the top of the one on the top this has the effect of taking out the play in the plastic and it now works properly again, dont know how long it will last but i know i did it at least 2 yeatrs ago with just the bottom eye as i found the piece of copper that had worn thin in there!! lol

HTH :y

Thanks OT, I think I read where you had done that earlier. Just wondering whether its worth replacing while I'm in there, as its a b****r sorting my garage to get the car in. ::) ::) ::)
