Tunnie, we need to reprogram MID on this Elite.  I put wrong config on - sorry  :-[

It needs code index 049...

Ah ok, no problem.... be a good chance to fix the drivers side leccy seat  ;)
Should be able to have a look on Sat (after we've bled TB1). May have to take seat out...

Should't be too bad, no side airbags to worry about just the pretensiors

Which one?!

One's 18, low mileage and needs running in a bit.
One's 25, meduim mileage, cracking bodywork, good trim and, er, fantastic ride
One's 40, but the best cared for - Many previous owners - high recent mileage mostly clocked up by me - will keep going forever.

Make your choice...

Can I get a test ride er i mean drive on 25?  ;D

LSG1 - It should have alloys but i have the feeling he swapped them for a full set of brand new tyres some time ago  >:(

Should't really affect its sale value...

Twas my fee for reprogramming MID telling it it no longer had an auto gearbox to lose the message on the MID.

I was surprised how many systems on board this 1995 car that the Tech2 (1997 onwards) would talk to.  It was only the ATWS (IR type fitted), Sunroof, and Leccy seats (though they may not be getting power) that it would not talk to...

Bargin!

1 little L.E.D for about 4 hours labour!  ;D

Thanks for all your work Jamie, can't be bothered with the drivers seat now... i'll sort it tommorow after going to the scrappy (as long as it stays dry!)

tunnie you lightweight get up early get out in the rain get covered in oil and fix the motor

sell sell sell :)

sorry that was meant for my staff here - underperforming so and so`s

I intend too, but we will have some uses for it first as above..

Cheapist working estate is going for £595 on a national search on Autotrader & thats a 2.0 Select!!!

I reckon it probably would. But it was raining (hence not fixing drivers seat).  My gut feeling is that its the motor/gear mechanism thats seized, rather than the roof, but until removed, can't say.

Personally, I'd have it apart and fix the problem, but I know tunnie is keen to sell on quickly...

There is no rush really due to Tax & MOT... and we will use it to haul rubbish to the Tip!!

Think i might take it apart during the week....

Your mum has been to that scrappy with you, and I'm sure she is a very nice woman. After all, she puts up with you for the long summer break ;)

Agreed Jaime.......but i doubt Tunnie wants to clean her  ;D ;D ;D

 ;D ;D

She puts up with a lot, all the mud i bring in... and shouting and cursing when working on the car...

My dad just got back from the Isle of Man, he has a big project up there at the moment. Spends all week there, comes back on weekends.

He left on Monday, I had the Reflection in the garage, in the time he's be away i've sold it and bought another!! ;D

He also suggested while we have an estate, clear out all the rubbish in the loft!! - Got me a 300 quid bin lorry with leather seats  8-)

Well good luck with project B tunnie.

That is good economy - my 2.5 does not do that admitted mine is an auto but even so.

Anyway, I went to my local yard last week and there was an M reg elite saloon in there.  Although the interior is cream leather, it may yield some useful parts.  If you want anything give me a shout.  It was complete (apart from audio and Cd changer) when I was there but that may have changed now of course.

Cheers m8, i have given it a damn good clean today, and got most of the bits from the scrappy down the road.

It has A/C and it acually blows ice cold!! - glad of that comming back yesterday it was quite warm

Sometimes a little frsh oil will make the tappets quieter.

The oil looked in good condition acually... good chance to practice and oil change i now have one of those things to remove oil filters.

I could pop it around today?, still insured to drive it today and tomorrow morning

Plan A: Fix it up a bit and sell it on. If you bought it with 66k and the MoT's match, then advertise it the same. If anyone asks if it is genuine, you were told so but cannot guarantee it obviously. Tapping? Ignore. Just clean it up a bit and sell it as is. Don't mess about with the radio and stuff mate, makes no difference to the price. Change the boot carpet, easy job and about £10. Straight into AutoTrader for £595 and double bubble this week.

Plan B: Spend a fair bit doing all the 'jobs'. Even put an autobox back in cheply enough if you wanted to. Radio, speakers, sort the seats out. Loads of WD40 on the motor ends then an allen key to start the, moving again. Sunroof, leave it!

Plan C: Strip it. Gearbox, seats, computer, radiatorts, lights, panels then get towed away.

Plan D: Sell it on exactly as it is on Ebay. Put a BIN price of £495 and make a tidy bob or two.

Plan E: Sell it to me for £30. ;)

Humm i don't think i will be doing plan E  ;) , it had £30 of fuel it in when i picked it up!!, well chuffed. Only cost me £23 in the train fare + £2.50 car parking to collect it.

You seriously think it will got for say £500 even with the radio in bits??

Boot carpet is in good nick, good clean with the Dyson and it should look good again.

I have to wait for the Log Book to arrive, so might as well fix it up best i can until then. Have to investigate the seats, as that will really let down a sale. Can't see any allen key sockets must have another good look. The seats don't even make any noises... just silence?

As for the tapping, i guess its just age. My dads old pre-faclift 2.0 GLS did it after 100K plus...
