Hi guys, thanks for all the comments. I'm going to see if I can borrow a compression tester tomorrow and have a look at the water etc to see if it tells me some more

If I were you I would take Mr Guffer up on his kind offer. :)

I have just taxed the family Corsa online.

Surely with a small economical car such as this the road tax should be £0.

Bastards. >:(

The 700cc Smart's road tax isn't as low as you'd expect. I thinks it's a gram or so into the next band which makes it about £110/£120 per year. I can't wait for next May when they're all due again  ???  ??? £875 IIRC :'( :'(

A drop in the ocean for a wealthy man such as yourself, Andy. :)

Little more than loose change..... ;)

Surely hydrogen fuel cell cars are the future. The  time to 'refuel' being similar to petrol.  :y :y

I could be tempted by one of these. :y

Accoding to the log book the 1.2 Corsa throws out a miserly 146 G/KM. That won't pollute Mother Earth much.....it won't even give her a sniffle..... ;D ;D

What does your G/Km level have to drop below to become tax exempt?

Did you remove it with a hammer :o apart from being full of dust, leaves and flies, that should be the same shape as the new one ::)

I pulled the old one out the bin just for a photo shoot  ;D hoovered inside the filter box as well  :y

Haha! So that was just for effect  ::) ;D ;D ;D

Yes special effects  :D I was going to blow the old one out with air line and put back in but for £5 it was worth changing  :)

By the way thats not my indoor house carpet , its the shed one ::)

I hadn't taken any notice, you should see where I have to go sometimes, till you mentioned it, now I tend to think on the lines of, 'he who protest too much'.... ;) :D :D It's ok, who gives a monkeys if that is your front room carpet, be honest, if anyone is bothered then they are not worth bothering with........... ;) :D :y :y

Carpets......luxury.

We don't have any carpets in the lounge or dining room.  :)

I think it is a good job fit for the future monarch. He can be rota'd on when he isn't doing official duties.

Better than being a playboy.

Absolutely............ :y :y

I'd quite like to be a playboy......again. :y

Hi
Haven't had motor long enough yet, but, Omega 2.2  managed around 35mpg on a long run. Due to go to Amroth in South Wales soon will fill tank brim to brim, so will see then.   Thing is, I'm getting more than that around town.  :-* No where near the official figures though :'(

The 'reduced cylinder' Omega are not known for their frugality.  :)

My 2.2 petrol auto was abysmal, I'm getting far more from the 2.3 full pressure turbo Saab 9000 auto

Far more performance, too. ;) ;)
