I wish the resident would put his camera on a lamp post. It would be even funnier

This is a news story of a few weeks back in the U.K.

Even a police van was caught out by these bollards being too close together ;D ;D

It takes news a few weeks to travel a thousand miles.  ;D

Someone might have missed it.

Saw this a couple of months ago on the news, then it made its way onto You Tube.

Devon County Council installed a couple of 'traffic calming' chicane type things a few years ago near me and they're a complete PITA if not down right dangerous.  ::)

One is near the local school so causes massive congestion (and pollution) in the morning and at kick out time, and another is on a bend so if you're not on the priority side, you can't see if anything is coming the other way that has right of way. I've had several near misses on that one!  >:(

I remember a set of bollards like that in an approach road into Hemel Hempstead Industrial estate . It looked like they were installed to prevent HGV's routing through the town .
I scraped the wheel rims of several cars on the concrete bases over the years as I passed through them and that was at pedestrian speed as the gap was so narrow .
Just a couple of inches off centre and crunch .
Perhaps the council need to install some kind of "soft" early warning device like this ...

The cause is stupid people driving cars they can't handle.
A fix is removing the cars.
The cure is removing the stupid people as well. That's impossible, so a fix would have to do.

there's a width restriction on the approach to an industrial estate near me that was to stop HGV's from using the road, but also to allow fire engines etc to use it if needed. On the rare occasions I use the road, I use the bit intended for fire engines because the ML will only just fit .... there's paint on the concrete barriers representing just about every manufacturer.

A government minister suggested this a few days ago in relation to climate change............  ::)

Which one?
I'm amazed that somebody had the balls to say it in public.

Some dopey bint who has barely been outside London said that car ownership is an old fashioned 20th century concept, or words to that effect.
A 21st century version of "let them eat cake."  ::)

I idiotted both mirrors off a yellow Escort van back in my yooof.  A tractor was turning right, and I was pedal to the metal flat out (the only way), going to undertake him...

...and before turning right he swerved left a bit (WTF, no idea, maybe was gonna try a Scandie Flick in his Massey).  So I lose one mirror on his back tyre, and one mirror on a post.

No bodywork damage bar slight scratches where the mirrors bounced off the panels.

Ah, the joys of youth ;D
