The Range fits in my garage but have to fold the mirrors in , have never forgotten yet will be an expensive job if ever I do.

A friend who works in the oil and gas industry lived in Houston, Texas for a while and apparently it's very common for British oil workers to head straight for the nearest big pick up dealership when they arrive.  :)

Apparently it's also very common to find big pick ups with their British drivers at the body shops because they assumed their shiny new pick up would fit in the garage!  ;D

I've never even tried to get my ML into my garage, even if it went in there, I doubt I'd be able to open the door enough to get out of the car

..... I'd squash my Smart Roadster if I did!  ::)

A work coleauge once bought a VW Beetle and reversed it into his garage whilst leaning out out the open door  because his rear screen was dirty.  ::) ::)

Got a beetle with a suicide door. :o

They've raised it almost a foot and fitted a girder height gauge either side and people still try and drive under it.  :o

The cause is stupid people driving cars they can't handle.
A fix is removing the cars.
The cure is removing the stupid people as well. That's impossible, so a fix would have to do.

A government minister suggested this a few days ago in relation to climate change............  ::)

Which one?
I'm amazed that somebody had the balls to say it in public.

Quote "Transport Minister Trudy Harrison MP has said........"  ???  ;D Here`s the CV for this genius :-

Trudy worked at Sellafield for 5 years as a technical clerk before setting up and running a childcare business.
Following a career break, Trudy was employed by Copeland Borough Council, first as a Locality Officer and then as Community Regeneration Officer. Trudy left Copeland Borough Council in 2013 to work as a Programme Manager for investors specialising in renewable energy and sustainable community projects.

And that derogatory genius is exactly my point: the way we use transport, energy really, is not and never was sustainable. The costs were masked, and the consequences deliberately ignored. That's no longer possible, and the only effective solutions are thoroughly unpalatable.

The way we profligately use power for everything cannot continue.

I remember a set of bollards like that in an approach road into Hemel Hempstead Industrial estate . It looked like they were installed to prevent HGV's routing through the town .
I scraped the wheel rims of several cars on the concrete bases over the years as I passed through them and that was at pedestrian speed as the gap was so narrow .
Just a couple of inches off centre and crunch .
Perhaps the council need to install some kind of "soft" early warning device like this ...

TB has a 'cunning plan' on how to implement this. ::) ::)

Much like a roundabout we have just on the outskirts of Brakkers. We have the annual event where a lorry goes straight over the top, demolishing it in the process.  Then, annually, about 2 weeks after the regular lorry incident, we get cars not making it round, and rolling down the bank.

Its a bit tedious, as it takes them weeks to repair the damage each time.

Nuclear is the ONLY way to GO! Everybody else is doing it (in europe) as we buy their electrickery from not so far away.
See Here!

https://gridwatch.co.uk/

I worked latterly on CCGT,s and nuclear as a fully qualified instrument engineer (DG will know what that is) but you can see which provides the most power for our needs at this moment. GAS AND OIL (Yea Yea) I know what you are going to retort!
