Anyone know a VW enthusiast who wants a load of magazines?
« on: 15 December 2023, 16:24:10 »

Clearing out the house continues. Got a four foot stack of old VW magazines that I inherited somewhere and have never opened most of them. Performance VW, Ultra VW, Volkszone, Camper/ Commercial.

They'll be off to the tip if not collected by someone so if anyone knows anyone then shout up...

I found a big box full of Practical Car Mechanics magazines from the 1960's and 1970's in the attic the other day that were my Dad's.  :)

I remember when he died in 1993 my Mum was going to chuck them out, but I rescued them thinking they might be worth something one day!  :y

Well.... They might be... One day!  ;D

Slap them on eBay for a 99p no reserve auction. If they've not gone by Christmas, dump them.

We recently sold one of SWMBOs fathers naval books on eBay first took it to our local auction rooms who suggested a reserve of £750 highest bid on the day was £260 so we had it back and put it on the bay for £1800 or best offer and after a couple of days we got £1500 so were pretty pleased with that, we knew it was worth a fair bit as a similar copy had sold for £2200 in a London auction house. I have seen old motoring mags go for a decent amount quite recently.

No, but if you find any more plod omega rear springs during the clearout, please put my name on them.
I fitted the front struts & springs I had from you a few years back on my car and left the rear springs with Zirk as they may have been useful for him at the time.
I now want a pair for the rear, but he has mislaid them somewhere.   ;D
