Okay some of you will know ive had a v6 vectra for about 3 months now and posted a few times about removing oil cooler ( without bending pipes )
The projec has been delayed due to being involved in selecting people for redundancy and a more pressing rover turbo project.
But its back to the veccy today and the cooler is out - and boy what a mess. Most definately failed
So im now at the point of cleaning and rebuilding. With fingers crossed it starts (smoothly)
So whats the most effective method of cleaning - should i just remove all the gunk that i can physically and proceed to rebuild - allowing the many coolant and oil changes i plan to do almost daily when i get it started to clear it out.....
Or is there another more sensible method like removing as many parts and hand cleaning rather than the coolant flush process and oil change process churning the goo out ?
Thanks
Markie
ps ive removed and replaced the thermostat, removed and cleaned header tank and all radiator hoses but theres a tremendous amount of goo in the radiator - i do have a brand new one should i just fit it or ( seeing as its physically in good nick) try flushing?
