air con compressor
« on: 15 March 2007, 19:27:04 »

Hello

Does anyone have a spare air con compressor as mine, the clutch is draging and sqealing when not in use and its bloody annoying.

the air con works so does anyone have an idea on fixing my clutch unit can this be done without disturbing the pipes or letting the gas out

Any help much appreciated It's a 94 3.0 elite by the way

THANKS  Rick :)

I am pretty certain that the clutch on the compressor can be changed in situ.  Now, the question is, can you find somewhere that would be willing to do so?

Clutch can be changed without removing compressor but requires a special tool to pull the pulley off so its a job for an aircon specialist.
The clutches can cost the same as a rebuilt compressor so most aircon places will recommend changing the whole compressor.
