Help needed-ashtray drawer
« on: 10 November 2008, 12:06:42 »

The (pop-out) ashtray/lighter drawer below the music system will not shut. It feels as if something (a screw or clip) has fallen behind it.
How do you get the drawer out?
Thanks for any advice.

Lift out the inner part of the ashtray (where you dump your ash). There should be three screws. You only need to remove the middle screw and out it comes. :y

RobG & Derek

I took out the small inner tray. Right behind the drawer there are 3 screws. I took out the middle one but it did NOT release the drawer.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any advice.

Look here. You may have to remove all three.

the "middle screw" should be through a half inch hole on the backplate if you like of the cig tray (makes it easier in an auto to shift it into 1st)

You were absolutely right. Thanks.
The middle screw & then pull as there is also a connector plug at the back to disengage.
5 minute job.
The culprit was a small bit of plastic which had broken off the back of the lighter which can be rather flimsy if you push/pull plugs into it too roughly. Yes put the stick in 1st to get more room.
