I always have some unused ebay accounts, as ebay occasionally give free auctions to old but unused accounts  :-X

I didn't get them pulled. Ebay pulled them.  Which means someone complained (ie, sellers who sell similar info for profit). Tossers.

The remaining auction breaks ebay's rules, so if anyone complained (stating any of the 3 rules its breaking), it would be pulled by them...

Keyword spamming? It's when you put things in the tittle that will bring you hits from different searches. Like putting Vauxhall astra vectra omega corsa parts...

Thanks. I am sure I have seen a lot of that on ebay and not just in motors. :)

I had an advert pulled recently due to key word spamming, it had "as new condition" in the title. They didn't like it because they reckoned it gives the wrong impression to people wanting to buy that product new.

I argued that I was describing the condition of the product, because it was in an "as new" condition. They basically said tough it's against the rules.

So I pointed out that if you type in "as new" to search all of Ebay you get about 9000 - 9500 adverts with "as new" in the title - so evidently they need to pull their fingers out.

Didn't get a reply back to that one though  ;)

Jobsworths. Hiding behind a big company banner in total anonimity. I bet their partners work in government offices dreaming up more harebrain ideas.

They should spend their time pulling people up for saying car is advertised elsewhere so may remove from auction at any time. It is either up for auction or not!

Just thinking.. It's the perfect job for Ken Livingstone and the like. Go and work for Ebay where you've got your own little dictatorship where you can make arbitrary decisions about what's right and wrong and nobody has any recourse. At least it'd only be our online purchasing he could F**k up, instead of the whole of our lives.
