Dustpan and brush for when it breaks down.

Are you trying to win an award for the shittiest vehicles ever produced?

I looked at a few after my Disco got written off, my honest opinion is DON'T DO IT!

I took one for a 'Spirited' run and the ride was awful, lots of body roll in the corners at not very high speed. They rot like hell round the inner arches, rear lights & wings.

When you turn the ignition on check to see if the side lights come on, if they do a bodged fix has been done to the clocks as they are prone to several malfunctions i.e. rev counter not working / light cluster not working / dash not lighting up.

Suspension is quite weak too, springs dampers etc. need to be checked thoroughly.

For me the dash / interior felt very cheap & tacky and it looks shabby after about 10 yrs, even in the range topper 3.2 v6. Looking at the forums they don't appear to be very reliable either 2.2DTI seems the best one & only if its had regular servicing, though the early 2,2DTI did have probs with the diesel pump which is about £1000 to replace.
I know Disco's have their problems with rot but I'd defo have one over a Frontera

I really am trying hard to find something nice/constructive to say about them, but I can't. Horrid ride, horrid power, useless offroad, awful on road. Noisy. Uncomfortable. Gas guzzling. Fragile, both mechanically and electrically.

I didn't want to be so blunt but........yep.
I fancied one a good while back. I read reams of reviews and data and came to the conclusion that they are shite. But, as human nature is, I still wanted to find just a couple of good reviews to justify my interest. Silly things..aren't we?

Here's a link so's we knows what we're talking about!  :)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-Vauxhall-Frontera-2-5TDS-San-Diego-Ltd-Edn-/281220222397?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item417a080dbd

It's of a vintage where you could probably get away with chucking a bit of veggie oil in the tank to cut running costs as well!!  ;) :y
