That's the problem with them.... basically about the same mpg as a V6, so much less grunt, worse at towing, etc.. Less 'support' on here (purely there are less spares, and people who know these engines as well, compared with the V6. Often worth looking on Vectra, Astra and even VX220 Forums for help.) I don't want to pull the '4 pot' card, but it is - it's only a 4 cylinder, petty though I know that it is to say that. It's perfectly good engine, all-alloy, too, should make handling a little less nose-heavy. I'd never turn one down if it was a good buy it's a good buy. You'd not regret it, but I just think one day when the Omega is a 30-odd year old classic, on some Stand maybe at the NEC there'll be Two Elites and an MV6, all 3 probably facelifts, all the 4-pots, especially the early 8valvers and Reflections, GLSs, CDs etc gone, scrapped years ago.. and will therefore be by far the rarer old beasts.

Are you sure? Pretty sure the Z22 is cast iron block like the V6s. :-\

Oooh, always thought it was all-alloy in the Vectra, VX220 etc... it migth be that the Omega 2.2 isn't the same as the other 2.2s... like the 3.2 V6 Monterey isnt the same engine as Omegas... no idea now!!!!!

Don't you ever wonder how much you 've lost in depreciation over the years?
