Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Aircon problem.
« on: 10 April 2010, 19:04:53 »
Good news, for me anyway. My lad was having a look to see if fuse 33 was ok (it was) and decided to have a look under a panel that lives under the glove box. He could see the multiplug which feeds the climate system had come loose. He snapped it back together and hey presto fully working climate again  :D. Is this a sign that someone's been there before fiddling about or just poor Opel quality control? Either way glad to have it sorted.  :y

Cheers henry, I'll look at this tomorrow.

not sure if the same fuse covers all the aircon, fan & servos together. If so probs motor goosed.  isn't there a resistor pack as well near the fan motor? Anyone?

Ta for the reply but pretty sure scuttle drain ok as recently cleaned.

Is there a specific fuse at all?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Aircon problem.
« on: 08 April 2010, 18:59:18 »
Hi, the fan on my climate control system wont run. If I switch the aircon on I can hear the engine note drop as the compressor kicks in and I can hear the servos running as I switch the controls about. If I switch to demist I'm sure that should bring in the blower but no, if I switch the setting to LO there is still no fan. It was all fine the other day, by the way.

Is there a particular fuse or relay that could have failed to cause this?

Any help or ideas appreciated.  :-/

Hi Willow, nice to hear of someone close by.

I'm in Skelmersdale about 5 miles from you.

Again, cheers Josh. :y

Yep, aware of Tunnie's guide.
Guess what I'm doing next weekend?  ;D

Eureka! Thanks Josh.

I did as you said. Didn't hear the clicking sound but turned a bit harder and there was a 'click'. The button didn't come up but the door could be opened. To lock it again was the same but obviously the other direction, a 'click' but no button movement. It seems something has come adrift so I'll order a new motor and sort next weekend. At least I don't have to rip the door card to shreds or limbo into the car from the passenger seat - not good at my age!

Cheers but I just tried that and the 'stard won't budge. It's as if the deadlock is on as both the interior and exterior handles don't seem to be moving any mechanism.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Drivers door wont open-help please
« on: 13 December 2009, 14:24:48 »
Hi Guys,

the driver's door on my 2002 2.2 CD has been acting up a bit lately, the other doors lock and unlock on the keyfob but the drivers door has needed the key in the lock to operate. Now the driver's door is locked and won't open at all, the interior handle makes no difference either.
Before I start hacking the door card to bits is there a way around this to at least get the door open?

All help appreciated

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Battery dying
« on: 14 November 2009, 10:02:21 »
Hi,

gonna replace my battery today. Are there any precautions I need to take (ECU, Airbags etc) before disconnecting/replacing?

Also how do I re-program the 'one-shot' feature on my windows if this may be affected?

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: RAC Fault Code Reader
« on: 12 November 2009, 17:07:33 »
Thanks all for your input.

Got a refund from Argos today and will look for a better reader but can't pay the earth for it.

Before I took it back I tried the RAC on my wife's Rav4 and got the same results with the exception that when it got to the bit where it checks all the systems for readiness it listed the MIL (check engine) light as having a status of OFF, which is correct. On the Omega the MIL status was ON, which also could be correct. The sales blurb on the reader stated the MIL could be switched off but I found no way on the menu to do this. Or could this be only when a recorded fault is cleared?

Confused  :-/

Cheers Dave,

as you may gather I'm a bit new to this. I assume that the RAC reader ( supposedly reputable name) should be much of a muchness with other cheapo (it is made in China) readers so I'm maybe a bit reluctant to send it back, buy another and have the similar results.

Would it be fair to say that every time a check engine light comes up it MUST trigger a code to be stored in the management system or can a light show and NOT always trigger a code?

Car runs fine, light shows now and again and always re-sets on switch off/start up.

OK, so I bought the RAC handheld reader (in effect £25 so as cheap as any).

I ran the scan and it came back with no recorded faults, which is good news I guess. Somewhat puzzled tho as the light does come on now and again and remains on until the car is next switched off and re-started. Car runs perfectly ok by the way.

Not sure now if I should just ignore it; is the Omega management system a bit fickle and sensitive? The one on my Corsa would flick in and out now and again with no ill effects. :-/
