Will FL headlights fit a MFL?
« on: 20 September 2010, 13:43:28 »

For a while now i've been considering rubbing down the headlights on my MFL as they are very discoloured. When I looked at my scrapper FL the lights are a lot better condition, so I started to look at them side by side and thought the FL ones might have a more extended top 'lip'. Without unnecessary stripping down does anyone know if they will fit and look OK?

They are different.Headlight shape for mfl upto 1999 will not fit the fl beyond that date due to curve of the wing.

They are also quoted as different part numbers on the VX parts listing.

Ahh so the wing is different, I assumed the problem would be with the bonnet fit.

Thank you

Wings are exactly the same, problem exists as you say, the bonnet

The difference is at the bottom inner corner, as Rob says the wings are the same all the way through.

And IIRC the under headlight trim is slightly different :-/

The bottom of the headlights are in the same place on both, the under trim is slightly thicker on the F/L, as you say, but that is due to the F/L bumper being slightly lower along the top edge.

Maybe i'll keep them for a FL front end conversion  :) (which is not as silly as it sounds as I need to get a new front bumper/bonnet at some point due to some peon dinging it)
