Another year, another MOT
« on: 05 December 2020, 11:39:46 »

Well, the old hearse has been in for MOT again today, only 4.5k since last one compared to average of 6.5k per year previously.

No advisories and emission 0.03% with HC of 14. I’ll take that all day long.

Am going to take the sill extensions off over Christmas and have a look there as I think that must be getting scabby by now though.

Might be something there. In Finland we use quite much salt for de-icing the roads. This salt water between the plastic cover and plate is bad combination. I wash my car about once a year so better maintainig needed. Just got sills renewed to pass the MOT...

Going to take CSR into work next weekend and see if so can find the slight oil leak on the left hand side of the engine. I suspect it is the oil level sensor plug seal so will clean that and apply some sealant for now as not in the mood to take subframes down in winter just to change an o-ring when I can happily do that in April

Great news on the pass, and the good emissions. But its usually rust that kills these, not the drivetrain.

Tell me about it.

I expected the emissions to be good as it is an X20XEV with 2.2 cats so more efficient and Inhave a “proper” Cebora industrial welder so will see what I find and then work on it during Spring or Summer when it is warmer and more light
