Must be the month for it....

Take a photo of the HUD image projected on the screen before its replaced.

The fitters are using some real cheap shit china glass and its real hit and miss on having the wedge shaded core to get the HUD image to focus and be the correct brightness and size.

Thought I'd update this thread
prices for trim where crazy .
I've not rushed to have it replaced until now because of the state of the roads etc (risk of it getting broke again )
the cracks where NOT really effecting my view of the road .

Today I had a new screen fitted , NOT through insurance .
I asked a local company to quote it , the chap had done Omega screens before  :)

I took the Omega to him this morning.
the old outer upper trim had been bonded in by the previous cowboy ,took some removing  :(
the lower inner and outer trim where fine .
he replaced the outer trim with a universal one ,which looks very similar to OEM and fitted a new screen  :)

£220 total ,which i was happy with ,I also gave him a "drink"  :P

IIRC the excess IF i did claim on insurance was £125
small print of MY insurance and price comparison sites says a "glass claim" must be declared for 5 YEARS  ::)
