Had a lovely couple of hours under the car adjusting exhaust to sto it hitting the floor. Nipping a couple of bolts hither and thither. Scrubbing back and re-undersealing where I've been a bit enthusiastic over bumps... My main issue is that no matter what angle and how much distance is between me and whatever I'm spannering... The dirt monster always fires bits up my nose.

Went for a drive in the new Toyota Yaris Cross which we picked up on Thursday, really very impressed, comfortable all the gadgets will take some getting used to average fuel consumption on our trip was 63 mpg .Can thoroughly recommend Listers of Boston did exactly what I asked for ie spare wheel kit ( can't be arsed with an aerosol) bloody stupid idea ,no pushy salesman & the guy we dealt with was able to answer all my questions which impressed me.

You have or I have? It's a hybrid so fingers crossed , it's the first car I've ever bought that came with a tank  three quarters full for a 3 cylinder 1.5 it's certainly got some poke, still prefer my V8 though.

Took battery back to Halfords, its 5 year warranty runs out in October.  Young girl tests it there and then, agrees it's BFoNTV, gets me another. Done and dusted in under 15 minutes.  Unlike the useless mongrels at Sytner. self-abusers.

CBA to actually fit the battery, mind ;D

Took the head off my recently aquired 1985 Carlton 2.0 L estate
One owner since new, no central locking, no electric windows, no ABS, simples
Previous owner sold it as he was 95 and the head gasket had gone
Found the replacement gasket done after the valve seats were changed to hardened ones is wrong and 50% of the water ways were not allowing water from the block to the head and vice versa as the gasket did not have the nessacary holes in it

Hopefully it has had enough cooling to keep the engine from damage 👍
