Daniels Trudge which is opposite the "In" drive to Wendover Woods (but I get a feeling the carpark is closed now)
Just looked on Google Maps, its marked as Aston Hill Bike Park and Aston Martin plaque.

Oh, and scrap the drive to Combe Hill, HS2 have closed the road long term as well for their pointless money pit. Not sure if a footpath is available, as it used to be along the side of the road at the point HS2 are causing distress and misery.

If you want to drive around to it, grab out Google Maps and look for Coombe Hill Monument just East of Butlers Cross :y.  Be aware that HS2 do tend to randomly close roads without notice though.

Aylesbury
My childhood home.  Bit of a shithole now, sadly.

Where in Aylesbury?

I guess the actual ceremony will be on the parade ground up the hill on the camp.
.
Staying at the Bell & Dragon in Wendover.
I think thats what I know as theh Red Lion, almost opposite Budgens, about halfway up the High Street.  I might have been in there more frequently than I care to remember, as my bestie mate came from Wendover.

If you have time, wander up to Combe Hill, probably about a 2 mile walk there, follow same route back. Stunning views over the Vale of Aylesbury from up there - walk up the High Street, passed the Shoulder of Mutton and over railway line and up the hill, as the road bends to the right, go straight on instead up the path, and it'll take you right up to the monument  at the top. Dog friendly if you have the mutt with you :y

(You can drive if preferred - up high st, passed shoulder of Mutton and railway, keep going along road for about a mile until you get to a cross roads. Go left towards Great Misery, after about half a mile, turn left* and about third of a high up the hill on a sharp right bend is a carpark. Park here (free) and walk through gate near the road (usually an ice cream van parked there) and follow that path for about 300m to momument)

*don't turn right into a driveway, thats one of the back entrances to Chequers, and the security there have a sense of humour failure...

Other worthwhile places include Wendover Woods (search for Go Ape Wendover) which overlooks Halton Camp, but horrifically expensive to park and Daniels Trudge which is opposite the "In" drive to Wendover Woods (but I get a feeling the carpark is closed now)

Not got time today, but having seen some of the scenery on the way here will definitely bring the tin tent down to spend a few days exploring 👍

Can't think of any campsites around there, but anywhere along the ridge between Chickenshit Canyon (M40 cutting) to Dunstable Downs will give you access to nice wooded hills with stunning views, and mostly dog friendly.

Yup, nice places around there - Marsworth Reservoirs and the canals, Pitstone Windmill, Albury village (used for loads of TV shows). And only a stone throw from Halton :y. Also, a stones throw from the site of the great train robbery ;D

Loaded the Range Rover up with umpteen chairs & tables during the morning & transported them to my Daughters house, in readiness for our grandsons 18th birthday celebrations & his success in completing his RAF training . Plus its SWMBOS birthday and our 50th wedding anniversary going to be plenty of ale flowing this weekend.🥂🍺🥂🍺🥂🍺

Skinned my knuckles undoing a supposedly 30Nm nut.  Only grazed the skin off, but still stings like hell ;D
