Drove it back ( RRS) from Stansted airport this morning after a week in Crete with all the family, been meaning to do it for years and finally did probably the last chance as our 17 year old grandson goes into the RAF on the 25th.

Our family tries to deny and forget the fortnight we spent in Crete.  It started bad - cockroaches, illness, burglary within first 12 hours - and kinda went downhill from there....

Those covered wheel studs really are a sh!t idea aren't they?! They're high on my list to replace with something better on our galaxy. Just as soon as I figure out what that is...

You'll be please to know that JLR continued to use the utter shite Ford design for ages after selling to the Indians. Probably still do.

Mine are all replaced with one piece wheel nuts on both cars.  About £30 for a set of 16(if you want to keep locking nuts) or £35 for a set of 20 if you don't.

Given that when designing mine Ford chose one of those plastic toys children use to make shapes in plasticine as the template, then shipped one such toy with every car as the tool used to remove them, I'll probably buy a set of 20.

Are yours flat, or tapered.

My Merc has a stainless cap on each nut too. Rattle guns just bugger them up .... I've a bag full of caps to prove it. Doesn't help that they're not flat sided hexagons

Holidayed in quite a few Greek islands years ago. Didnt like Crete much. Particularly when swmbo insisted on walking the Samaria gorge.
Kefalonia was always my favourite Greek island. Lovely place.
Zante / Zakynthos was an utter shitehouse of a place. Like Clacton but smelled a lot worse.

Thats the biggest killer, but water can still ingress even when properly looked after, and start the corrosion.

Kefalonia was always my favourite Greek island. Lovely place.
Zante / Zakynthos was an utter shitehouse of a place. Like Clacton but smelled a lot worse. 

If you go to Zakynthos and are over the age of 18, stay away from Zakynthos town.  Other areas are quieter, beautiful, and I'd recommend .

Bit like my favourite Greek island, Cyprus, if you've made it beyond puberty, avoid Ayia Napa and you should have a decent time.

We were very lucky then, our daughters best friend is a travel agent & she's been almost everywhere you could think of, once our daughter knew we were footing the bill for everything, we were recommended the perfect place , everything was fabulous from start to finish. Greek island cruise next on the list for SWMBO & myself, got to enjoy retirement while we're able.👍

That's exactly what we intend doing, we were fortunate enough to have a windfall when my wife's cousin died a couple of years back & we're determined that all the family will enjoy it, hence the villa ( in progress) and many holidays.

I use the no pockets in a shroud a lot.

We are aiming for planned decline. Start off with your pot of loot, do everything you want before you die and exit leaving nothing. The trick of course is knowing when you will exit.

What I have seen is a lot of folk “ lingering” with loads of money but their bodies are only fit for watching daytime TV…… Oh and no sign whatsoever of the family that will inherit. They only come out of the woodwork for the reading of the will and then vanish again
