The CLS was a 5.5 V8 NA with 388bhp and the C43 has 385bhp but is lighter and has 4matic. The C43 is a lot easier to handle and actually use in the twisty road’s though. The CLS was a bit of a barge but that V8 sound made up for it the £695 a year TAX was pain though.

I owned a 2006 CLS500.

My car had a 5 litre V8 in a pretty low state of tune with just 302BHP. Plenty of torque though. :y

The 383bhp lump is a 32v jobbie with an extra 500cc and variable valve timing ;)

The M113 lump in yours was only 24v without the VVT. Hence the power difference :y

Drove it to north London. Took forever, due to everyone crashing and causing queues.

From there, drove it to Guildford. Took forever, due to everyone crashing and causing queues.

Then drove it home. Took forever, due to everyone crashing and causing queues.

WTF is wrong with people?  I accept when the lockdown restrictions eased, people had forgotten how to drive, but that was ages ago now.  Fikcing mogrels, the lot of them  >:(

Must have spent about 7.5hrs in the car yesterday, doing less than 200 miles, virtually all motorway apart from north circ and A3, both of which are dualled.

Pink-ish doors on the red Astra seem to be coming up quite nicely with this:

Only done the top of one door down to the crease, but it certainly looks a helluva lot better.

Are you looking to sell it privately Ste, or tarting it up for WBAC?

Not thinking of selling right now, Jim. It's the wife's old car, she got the grandland. Just thought I'd have a go at de-pinking the front doors.

If its like the 1980s red that fades, all products that bring it back to red from that white-ish colour it goes are temporary.
