As all my planned work yesterday was cancelled at short notice, and because I was in Brummingham so couldn't do anything productive at other sites, a colleague and I decided to "collaborate" at the city centre German Market.

Lots of frothy beer and a 20" hotdog.

That's what I call a great day in the office .  And not getting stabbed whilst in Birmingham is a bonus.

As an added bonus, popped in to see that reprobate Mr DTM - great to catch up Mark

Well, due to drizzle earlier in the evening, I CBA to walk down to watch the Brackley fireworks, put on by Merc F1.

So imagine my delight when they were live on BBC2 on Saturday evening

General Car Chat / Jag XJ X351 audio

Possibly one for that nice DTM fella....

I had her watching BBC One East all the way to mums on Saturday.  Once past Northampton, picture quality was OK-ish, but audio was constantly breaking up - initially we though headphones, so turned off dual view so I could hear it, and it was still breaking up.

FM - it's picking stuff up, but very few stations have and RDS info.

Given DAB is struggling to pick up much, does this point to the antenna amp?  If so, does it have a fuse?  I can't find the amp on the schematics I currently have downloaded (and not sorted my TOPix access back yet, LOL)

For reference, its the B&W 1200W system in mine with the gen2.1 HDD IAM/Touchscreen setup, if that makes a difference.

General Car Chat / Why use a torx bolt

Putting a query out there for the engineers.

JLR, in their wisdom, use a bolt that needs a T60 torx bit to secure the front shock to the lower suspension arm.  Is there a technical reason for using such a bolt instead of a standard Hex bolt, or even a torx that takes an E-torx socket?


Seems a dumb idea to me....

OK, so looks like Betamax Man has struck again, as I'm struggling to find a non return valve for the car's washer system.
