Had a e39 few years ago the jag's I am looking at are 2 to 3 years younger lower miles and history tried a c class merc wasn't too keen on that

Just done an ins quote on an s'type 3.0 and an omega 2.2 because I have had lease cars for so long I only have 2 yr ncb and the jag was £120 cheaper

I know the Mondeo based x type has some gearbox/transferbox proplems from what I have read the s'type can throw up some electrical faults if the battery is not in top condition

Been looking for a manual but most seem to be 2.5 and low spec from what I have read the prop with the gearboxes was on the earlier models the 6 speed zf box seems to be okay

Been thinking about the same thing having had lease car's for the past 9/10 years due to the miles I was doing and now being semi retired not doing the mile's anymore quite like the look of the jaguar s'type lot's of choice around the 2k 2.5k mark

« on: 17 November 2015, 16:13:58 »Son in law had one a few years ago his was a diesel only prop he had was the suspension mainly on the front seem to remember it liked to snap the springs and economy was piss poor
21-25 mpg apparently , thats not too bad considering the size of the car . Just waiting for some feedback from the seller about detailed service history .
His diesel was only doing around the 15mpg in town and 24 to 27 on a steady run
