Whats wrong with the VX Grey stuff?, its certainly cheaper than the Loctite Sealents and I believe you get more of it.  :-\

couldn't find any, I believe the number is 93160951.

do you know anywhere has it?

I don't suppose you thought to ask Vauxhall...

No I never asked, was just going to go with the elring stuff I used for my sump, but not sure if it was a different type for the sump.

Omega General Help / Re: CTS Number for 2.6/3.2
« on: 10 August 2022, 23:10:57 »
Also it is plugged into the correct loom?

The purge valve has the same plug but runs a 12v reference not 5v.

Presuming that you mean the ecu temp sensor on the coolant bridge rather than the thermos witches on the radiator.

Aye, its the CTS on the coolant bridge.

Omega General Help / CTS Number for 2.6/3.2
« on: 10 August 2022, 17:50:47 »
Hi

I know this has been asked probably a zillion times, but looking through the forum I'm seeing that the number recommended for the CTS is 90541937, however this number doesn't show up on the vauxhall parts catalog I'm looking in, if I filter on my VIN for either the 2.6 or 3.2 the number listed is: 90510493

Can't see that number anywhere in the forum. I've got a 90541937 here, a black one believing it would fit either engine. Just want to check if there is more to this or is that one ok after all?

Thanks

G

graphite powder is the reccommended lube for the actual barrel part but not sure if it would find its waythrough to the locking mechanism as its right at the far end so to speak.
i must admit thou that until i heard of graphite lube ive used wd or 3in1 on locks and barells for years and years and never had issues.i think they say it can attract dirt ?
if you want the steering lock to be fully operative it MIGHT mean pulling the barrel out and getting at it properly but no harm in trying lube first.

Stopped using WD once I realised it was washing out any grease and oil in the lock, only good for de-seizing, use that graphite powder now in locks, key slides in and out the 'ole nice (Said the actress to the bishop :y)

I read on here somewhere. Loctite SI 5660, is equivalent to Vauxhall grey sealant.

Thanks that looks suitable.

Omega General Help / Oil Cooler Plate Sealant

hi

Can anyone confirm the correct Elring gasket sealant I need for the oil cooler? I see on fleabay there is different coloured ones red/grey/black with all this technical mumbojumbo in the description, and not sure if there is a difference between them, if at all, or what one I need?

Thanks

left the car for 2 weeks not started for 2 weeks new battery new starter new everything cant open the car now tried openning manually it wont tried wd40 no good so how??

You have to turn the key clockwise in the drivers door quite hard till you feel and hear it click, if battery not working.

Is one-touch still working from within the car? If not, reset all windows in the usual way.

If it is, its liable that your keyfob battery or buttons aren't sustaining a good connection for the 3s for the process to start.

Do they open if you hold the unlock for 3s?

Last thing to try, using the mechanical key in the drivers door lock, if you hold it in the locked position for 3s, do they start to close then?

Nothing works, either in car one touch or using key in lock, windows don't move.

EDIT: Just reset each window by holding the button for respective window up for a few seconds you hear a click from the door, done this with ignition on.

Seems ok now.

Thanks

02 2.6 Omega (What else!)

Nothing major, just wondering why when I press the lock button in and hold that the windows don't go up as they used to do, even my old cavy does this, with the key held in lock though.

Only change to locks/key is a new key fob plastic bit, and the battery holder repaired by that guy on here.

Cheers

As for changing the belt itself, it seemed no matter what I did, if I got the 3-4 cams bang on and rotated the crank through 720°, it then threw the 1-2 cams out. Line 1-2 up and it then threw 3-4 out. I played cat & mouse with the damn things all afternoon going back & forth, but just couldn't get them happy. It was only a smidge advanced, but in the real world a smidge is actually a couple of degrees and I just couldn't get it to go back. The belt was straight, but I'd obviously missed something.

So I left it till the next morning, stripped the belt off and went back to square one. Nick and LC's clear instructions heeded, and it only took a couple of tweaks of the rollers to have everything lined up.  :y  Just to be sure, I then took the crank through a further 10 revolutions and this is how they lined up (which I was rather glad of, as I knew I'd have to report back here either way) ...

Whn I done the belt on my y26 first time I'd ever done a multicam belt, used to cavaliers and single belt mainly from my days in the trade, I followed the video (CD) on here and it seemed to work really well first time. 2nd time I done it, I was like this back and forth and couldn't get it right. I don't know how many times I started again, belt off again, but I eventually figured out the crank lock wasn't sitting right on the water pump, and every time I adjusted one bit, another bit went out. Glad I persevered as I got it bang on once fixed crank lock.

Could've easily said "That'll do it" and buttoned it up, but it's a really worthwhile learning curve to get it exactly right and follow instructions to a T.

Omega General Help / Re: Lambda 1&2 Spare Numbers for V6 Y26SE
« on: 15 July 2022, 07:22:01 »
I have several of each of these lambda sensors, some boxed GM and some Bosch.
 - 9195606 (Opel 855362), Bosch 0258006176 but also 0258006020 - 632mm in length with ident tag AH
I have three GM boxed of these - two have the 1st Bosch no. on the box, the third has the 2nd Bosch no on the box.

- 9199469 (Opel 855385), Bosch 0258006346 - 750mm in length with ident tag BG.

9195606 is the easier to find sensor, but 9199469's are available under the Bosch part no if you dig around. Be mindful that many sites list the 9199469 using the AH generic photo, so I would ask the seller to confirm the tag ident code and the Bosch no. on the body before buying.
Personally, I would check what is on your car at present, and make your choice using the Bosch no. etched into the body and the identifying tag, checking the cable length.

Thanks, will need to check the lengths of the cables on mine to be sure, some of the listings it seems the numbers are tallying up the but the lengths dont. I'm planning to do the sensors in a month or two so will have a look then. I bought another bosch one thinking it was for mine but when I researched the number again, I found it was actually for a Corsa 1.2 lol. I do have the Bosch 0258006176 one so that's a start.

OK, thanks yes, what I need is sensor 1, I am afraid that it is sensor 2 if "rear" means that. Then 9195606 would be the one I need?

http://oemcats.com/oem-parts/9199469.html this is according to link for "rear exhaust pipe"

I have a bosch 0258 006 176 with AH tag on it, which ties into vx part no 9195606 and is listed as for front, from what I am reading. Only thing I'm wondering is it says the length should be 850mm but mne is 630mm. Anyone confirm the lengths of front and back ones?
