Got a dehumidifier, run it in car for an hour on full pelt, i done it the other day and it soaked up about 2 cups of water. That was after my wet carpet affair though. Stick on recirculation so cabin is hermetically sealed as best it can be while running it.

Think it's pretty common for those abs rings to rust out and cause intermittent and false readings.

I think he needs to made a bold statement about preparing for No Deal BREXIT!  :)

Absolutely. In the absence of any appetite for sensible negotiations, time to start sending some signals. :y

But spreadsheet Phil doesn't intend for us to leave at all.
He does realise that invoking article 50 is irreversible... :o

What a shame  :)

Hi Grifter

Sorry for not replying sooner.  It wasn't me sorry who you spoke too. I live next to St Mirren FC. The wife has a 1995 2Ltr Estate in Green, I am now a owner of a FL blue 2.2Ltr.

I saw a silver saloon the other day on Barskiven Road going towards Asda from Ferguslie Park, the driver was a lady.  Will keep a look out for you.  Nice to see a few up this end of the Country.

Addy

Hi Addy

I spoke to a polish guy with a silver one, seemed a bit of a bucket tbh. Also seen one parked at linwood business park. I did see a green early estate on M8 couple of months ago, 2 guys in it. I do see a blue one parked outside gilmour st station occassionally, not sure if that's yours, or is the one that sits up my way?

I think we need a spotted thread for paisley lol

So, checked scuttle drain and it seems fine. Noticed a wee bit split on bulkhead panel where i'd dug dry sealant out causd i'd spotted a wee touch of rust.Thinkin might be something to do with it so greased over it as temp fix.

Grifter sounds like your drain plug has already been removed.

How come?

Ive had that in the past, sounds like scuttle drain I check mine whenever I get the chance ie very often

I'd never checked down that deep hole under cabin filter, well just a cursory glance and just seen chassis leg & bulkhead.

My scuttle drain is rather full but I think it still just about lets water out. but I had a wet drivers side carpet in my 3.2 estate and it turned out to be the sunroof drain tubes were blocked. so I blasted some WD40 down them and it seemed to clear the problem.

Wont have that problem as no sunroof!

This is placed down under the pollen filter then? So how does water get in, is it through vents? Have had a lot of rain recently. I've also just recently sealed scuttle under wipers as it was dripping into engine bay.

Cheers

General Discussion Area / police should go back on beat
« on: 01 November 2017, 13:24:23 »
Had an interesting convo with a cop who was trying to defend policing by car, saying it meant they could get to an incident quicker, however that is a reactionary procedure where they only arrive after the incident. If cops were on the beat they can still have a percentage in cars for back up, where regular foot patrols provide a visible presence around back streets and alleys where cop cars don't go and would likely miss the beginnings of an incident, unless it was right in front of them. In my time i've seen many incidents develop, people fighting, breaking into cars on a busy street and police just drove by.

It worked before so why not again, we have more plod now than ever before, yet crime is rising again. Any thoughts?

What actually fell....?

A hard drive or a PC/Laptop...

A hard drive is part of a PC/Laptop...

It sounds to me like there is a problem in the BIOS and may just need a reset....

You can buy a SATA to USB cable, but you need to make sure the USB port is capable of producing enough power to supply the HDD...

The whole laptop hit the deck

What has happened to the drive? What is the fault?

It dropped from a unit and then when trying to boot up it started beeping, splash screen lenovo comes up then get the black screen with message check cable connection pxe mof exiting intel, then boot option comes up with hard drive and pci lan atheros boot agent.

If i boot from hard drive: tsstcorp cddvdw sn-208ab it just loops in same pattern. If i go to app menu then set up it says next to hard disk: not installed. Also under set up then security it says no hdd detected

I took bottom cover off and only vosible damage i see is the little round battery holder seems to be hanging out.

Tried takind hard disk out and reseating, no difference.

Obviously thinking disc isperhaps damaged or imternal damage somewhere.

Thanks

Andrew
