why does it keep doing it???? i have had it out changed the bulb, put it in the airing cupboard, and still it mists up,condensation on the inside,no matter what i do with it it keeps creeping back in.....i did notice that one of the leg pieces that hold the bulb in was missing,so only one side of the bulb is tight, could this be the cause???anyone got a spare bulb holder spring bit.???
confused from sussex...

Is yours a facelift mod - if so how do you get to the bulbs? I used the silicone on my old Granny - worked a treat

Spoke too soon - just got the cruise sorted - having a bit of a clean up and noticed that my ns fog light is out :'(. How do you change the bulbs - anyone know please :question, before I destroy or scratch the painwork, cannot see any screws - my old one had a cover over that had to be unbolted and the holder was released from this when you took it out. I've looked all around and cannot see any clips or anything??? :-/

Why disconnect the Battery????

Just had a look at my old Haynes - The stalk is controlled by the ignition switch so will be dead. No need to disconnect anything. Wouldn't think it would have altered on the facelift models [smiley=thumbup.gif]

Hello everyone,

good to find this forum. Also good to see some familiar and friendly screen names here, especially those who've helped me sort out my Meega problems in the past and saved me a lot of money and grief, also saved me from getting rid of a car that I'd wanted for a long time and spent a fair proportion of the early months of ownership wishing I hadn't bought due to the problems with it (especially after my first, and last, ripping off by a Vauxhall dealer  [smiley=cry.gif]). The problems are now solved  [smiley=happy.gif]and I've been concentrating on improving the car. Not by much, but Cruise control is now fitted (although it doesn't work fully) and the paint chips are being sorted.
I'm no expert on modern cars or Omegas, but hopefully I can make a positive contribution to the forum.

Welcome - from one newby to another. I've only been a member a few days and already my new friends have saved me a fortune.

Welcome to the site :)

As for cruise, I've had trouble getting dealers to do 'beer money' jobs as normally you get stuck with some faceless receptionist first :).  If you are able to walk around the back, you may be able to persuade a mechanic to do it, if his boss ain't around ;)

I would acquire a stalk (you need to 4 wire type, not the 2 wire one for diesels), and see if it works. Some ECUs are pre-enabled, some need Tech2...

I think that I will have a problem getting to the mechanic too, my local dealer is reception armed  and getting round to see a mechanic will be hard. Will keep you all posted on the outcome :-/
