IPCs aren't difficult to use, but sometimes you need a bit of imagination to find stuff. Unfortunately, this tends to be lacking

nomenclature is a tricky thing to negotiate: the parts bloke will default to what the system uses, which can be very different to what is in general use. I constantly dealt with customer requests for window hinges, which we had a lot of options. Company policy was "doors have hinges, windows have stays", and searching the technical information for window hinges always returned no results.
