Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Central Locking Fixed!
« on: 09 June 2017, 09:27:30 »
Hi guys, I eventually got round to fixing my drivers and passengers doors central locking micro switch problem due to Kevin Woods excellent 'how to' article in the maintenance guides section. I also had to resolder the battery holder in my key. Everything is now working properly. :y :y
BUT, my passengers door electric window is not working from the passenger door switch but does work from drivers door side. This was a problem before I did the CL fix. There does not seem to be any voltage in the plug that fits into the switch mechanism. Does the voltage come from the drivers door side or does it come from somewhere else?
TIA  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Both Front Door Locks
« on: 24 February 2017, 10:19:02 »
Hi again guys,
After 6.5 hour drive back from a funeral yesterday in Castleton N Yorkshire through high winds rain and snow, my drivers and passenger door locks do not seem to be working. When I press the buttons I can hear the motors turning.

The passenger door electric window also does not work from the passenger door switch but works from drivers door.

I had a quick look to see if there is any dampness anywhere, nothing.

Any ideas guys!

TIA  :y

Omega General Help / Limp Mode
« on: 22 August 2016, 10:23:56 »
Morning guys,
Back from there last week.
Elite in for MOT this morning.
Yesterday I drove about 15 miles and the car went into limp mode. I noticed that the temp gauge went up slightly but nothing to worry about. Checked oil, coolant levels and everything seems to be in order. Started her up again, back to normal until a couple of miles then started to misfire again. Managed to get home by turning on the heater to keep temp down.
Plugged ELM in and there were no trouble codes indicated.
Any ideas on this guys?
TIA  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Strange Goings On!
« on: 09 February 2016, 12:09:20 »
Hi guys! after the rear screen problem (which has not happened again) other strange things things are happening. I noticed that the small led in the rear door locking switch on drivers door was lit. Also the electric windows worked without the key in the ignition switch, the courtesy door lights do not come on when doors are opened. Any ideas guys?? TIA  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Rear heated window cold problem!
« on: 14 January 2016, 17:58:15 »
Hi fellow oofers! I have not contributed on this forum for quite some time. However, since the temps up here have taken a dramatic downward spiral ie: -6c last night and double figures forecast over this weekend!
This morning I had to scrape windows and started the old girl up, and switched on both demist and heated rear windscreen. There was a slight noise when I turned on the HRW and it slightly made a difference to the engine revs but would not stay on.
However, this evening when the temps had gone up slightly the problem did not appear!
Any idea chaps?

Cheers

Omega General Help / Rear Springs!
« on: 09 September 2015, 10:28:40 »
Hi Guys! After being over there for 4 months, I started the old girl up, no problems apart from the discs being rusted up again. Took her down the road and gave her an italian tuneup. MOT had run out so booked in. Phone call later saying one of the rear springs has broken again. That must be 4 in as many years. Is there a stronger version out there? as the proper springs seem to be too soft. TIA.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Check Control Fuse
« on: 09 February 2015, 12:05:07 »
Hello again guys,

Not too sure if battery is fubard or there is a battery drain. The battery is only 18 months old. I checked the amps on a multimeter and the reading was 0.32 amps on a 10 amps setting on the DMM. I started pulling fuses out and came to fuse number 7 (check control) and the amps went down to 0.02. Is 0.32 amps the correct approximate reading or should the amps be reading zero when the fuse is in?

TIA

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Reading Lights On
« on: 07 January 2015, 10:52:55 »
Hi Guys,
A happy new year to one and all.  :y

After being away for 4 months the Omega started up first time, no problems.
However, last night I jumped out of the car and the reading light failed to go out. There are four lamps in the unit, I faffed around with it and as it was dark and raining I disconnected the battery. This morning I reconnected battery and the lights went back on. It is the back 2 lights in the unit that are on.
Anybody any ideas?

Thanks in advance guys.

Omega General Help / Water Ingress!
« on: 09 May 2014, 21:15:47 »
Hello fellow OOF'ers,
I have not been on this forum for more than 6 months after having my last contribution being deleted by a stazy type person on here.
However, my Omega has been sat here in Scotland for 6 months after me being working in Nigeria. I arrived back yesterday.
The front passengers footwell was very wet which has never happened before.
I have checked all the excellent fixes on here and everything seems ok.
Has anybody got any ideas on this??
PS: She started up first time after all these months.  :y :y Yea!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Windscreen Washers.
« on: 14 April 2013, 17:35:59 »
Hi guys,
My windscreen washers are not working. When I put the lights on, the headlight washers work ok, so it is not the pump that is at fault. Is there a filter between the pump and the windscreen jets? the jets themselves seem clear.
Thanks.  :y

I have just witnessed on BBC London news that Enid Blyton was accused of being a racist! Where are these people (BBC) going to end up?
It is well documented on this forum my views on the BBC and their left wing policies.
Their views should NOT be broadcast to the masses in this manner in my opinion. Someone in the echelons in the BBC higher up must have sanctioned it.
I weep!  :'( :'(

General Discussion Area / The Phillpots!!! WTF??
« on: 04 April 2013, 20:04:25 »
Firstly, I am surprised that nobody has started this evil story on this wonderful forum.
Anyway I will kick off,
How come that those a******s can get away with basically killing their own children, all six of them and get max 17 years for the mother and her (friend!) and your man getting more or less the same but with a review in a few years time.
I have something here that would solve the problem in an instant. Eh!! three instances.
These people in my opinion should not be allowed to breath our air.
It goes to show how this once wonderful country of ours has gone down the tubes this past few years.
I am old enough to remember that (ONE) murder in the UK would bring a front page news on most of the national newspapers and bringing a national abhorrence to that particular deed.
Moral compass my arse!!

General Discussion Area / Sk(ar)y News! WTF?
« on: 22 March 2013, 18:42:22 »
I have just been watching Sk(ar)y news and what is going on?
On most of the reports broadcast, you could not make a snowball from the depth of the snow shown.
There are also 1000's of schools closed because of the weather. What is going on?
Methinks that HSE is in full swing as usual.
As you can see from my Scottish town address, I am used to such weather but I cannot believe that such panic is broadcast.
Some of my farmer friends have been out as usual at this time of year, fitting the newborn lambs jackets made from plastic bags tied round their backs. I have been out helping in previous years on a very important task.
I have had my sceptics (UK spelt)) on this forum previously when the temperature dropped to -22c and 3ft of snow here in Aviemore a couple of years ago.
Just get on with it!!
