Equal with Schumacher on 7 world titles, but ahead of everyone on race wins, poles and just about every other record that counts.
And whats more he has done it fair and square. Never drove dangerously or unfairly,never cheated. Started from a council house in Stevenage, with no money, but huge talent, self belief and sheer hard work and rose to the very top. Inspiring hardly begins to cover it.
His politics may be controversial, but as a racing driver Ive never seen better.
If he isnt a national hero theres something wrong with the nation.

I dont agree with some of his off track stuff either, although Im certain he means well and his heart is in the right place. He just doesnt have the life experience or political knowledge to do what he is trying to do.

Btw, its still well worth watching for all sorts of reasons. The only thing Ive told you is that he scored several more points than Bottas.

According to Autocar magazine this week..........Of the 139 GP that have been run since 2014. Exactly 100 have been won by Mercedes.

I believe Hamilton has won 72 of those. And the Mercedes hasnt always been the best car. Although it has been most of that time.
It certainly didnt seem to be the best car today, but it was a masterclass of intelligent driving from him that young Verstappen could learn a lot from.
