Broken manual gearstick
« on: 08 June 2022, 23:36:15 »

I’m trying to get another manual gearstick for my 3.0L V6 as the rubber collar to lift for reverse has broken if anyone has one for sale?

The rubber collar is 90435930, I think. Check here:

It costs around £40- £50 and seems to be available only from Singapore.

Wouldn't like to guarantee it though. Caveat Emptor and all that.. ;)

I got a part from this chap and he was very quick in communicating and sending it. Not as quick as if I'd gone 10 miles up the road and collected it but he wasn't up for that. Perhaps he is hideously ugly or something. Worth a message, assuming the part is the same.

Can you replace the coller without taking the whole assembly off the car ?

I am assuming can remove Gear Knob (90435927 - assuming I can find a new one !) and the fit new coller (90435930)

Or is that wishful thinking ???

It's a fiddle, but yes the lever can be removed separately.

Strip centre console trim and gear surround.
Rubber boot off underneath.
Remove spring clips and knock pin out from the bottom of the lever.
I do four bolts.
Lever separated.

From memory but it's over ten years since I dropped my last Omega gearbox.
