Talking of lefties, I see the tories now have technically no tory councils in Oxfordshire, apart from Cherwell, which is more on a technicality following a draw at the last by election.

I know Oxfordshire is very odd, very do-gooder, very strange, and full of wasters, but surely it should still be the blue heartland?

I wouldn't be too worried, IIRC the yellows and reds tend to do much better at local/council level because they're seen as fluffy and caring and will make sure my bins still get taken when they're supposed to and the trees in my street won't get cut down.

Indeed they do. The Lib Dems in particular having enjoyed some memorable local wins.

However, most people have no idea who Ed Davey is so the party are something of an irrelevance.
