This - is it ever going to stop raining.

Unblocked scuttle drain and flushed out sludge (again). Might have to look at removing that rubber drain bung, but cant get my arms down past the pollen filter.

Omega General Help / Re: Speedo and rev counter not working
« on: 24 December 2023, 15:39:10 »
Mine's a 2.5 like yours Webby, and it did exactly the same a few years ago, flickering needle and no rev counter speedo.

In the end I removed the binacle, cleaned the contacts and refitted, but it didn't make much difference.

However I got better results after removing and checking / cleaning the 2 big round multi-plug connectors by the fuse box. It's been running fine for 3 years without a problem.

Took the Omega CD for an MOT test - it had been off the road since last Spring. I thought it may have advisories for rusty brake discs, but it was a pass with only advisory on greasy brake pipe. Result, hopefully it might see its 25th birthday still on the road.

Hello and welcome. If you've got an Omega, there's no better place than on here, although nowadays I suspect there's more members than there are Omegas!

Fitted complete £110 cat-back exhaust to the Omega 2.5 in the last couple of days.... getting a bit old for this lark, but a sense of achievement. There wasn't much left of the cat flanges, so drilling bolts not an option, so plumped for a couple of new split flanges.

Doh!! of course it's underslung, what was I thinking?

This is the arrangement I had when I did the handbrake cable a couple of years ago, ramps front, chassis resting on blocks and axle stands under the back. No need to take the rear wheels off to do the exhaust, so will be safer with ramps at the back.
