Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Alternator, which one?
« on: 04 June 2013, 21:08:37 »
Erm.  3.0 wouldn't fit when vx ran out of 3.2 ones and tried to sell me a 3.0 one. Loom wouldn't reach the new post positions, and the loom spade connector was too big.  :-\

Yes clear codes which will reset trims etc. ....preferable, but not vital though.

Equity value is way higher down here though. A purchase, say 30 years ago, will yealed almost twice as much cash as oop North.

Gives a much larger sum if you downgrade when you retire, or whatever.  :y

E.g.
A 4bed detached house in South west London suberbs,  35 years ago cost £3,500. Today, £750,000. That house would yield £250k less up there I guess....?

But all thingaps are relative, as they say. :)

:P Not another one that 'brakes' on the gearbox! It's great for the poor soul behind!  :-X  :-X

Nope, just don't brake at all.  Don't change gear much either.  Roundabouts can easily be taken at 45 in 5th  if you plan ahead. Traffic lights change if you anticipate. Pedstrians get out of the way if you don't show weakness ;)

break me, we have a Jedi in our midst. We... Well, I , am truly honoured.  ;D

Given our budget, it does indeed look like £400k plus to stay the same distance from London and Slough. Nearer London, no chance of a dg and loose a bedroom for the same money. No point going there.

Could get what we want out towards Newbury but that adds an hour to my journey home. And on a 12 hour shift, that's an important hour. 1/2 hour going in as well I expect. :(

Land to build a garage would be ok. Probably needs to be much more rural in that case though.

The odd property with outbuilding foes pop up. Trouble is the house usually looks like there bodies berried under the patio. :-\

Could it be, that the pad got stuck on the inner edge near the hub? So as it wears and the piston moves out, that particular pad is leaning over...? Maybe? Or the pad was not seated correctly. :-\

But yes first thing to check is that the calliper sliders move freely. But you would have checked that I'm sure.

Being near a motorway, and under the flight path to Heathrow, I wouldn't go looking to move close to a Railway line.

But yes that's the sort of thing.  :)

4 beds though. Oh and detached. ...with on suite bathroom. In fact, make the garage on suite as well. ;D

Think we're going to be staying put for a while.  ::)

Thera a few out past Tadley towards Newbury way. But that's a commutes passed the three worst junctions on the m4 this side if the m25.

Currently looking Crowthorne/Sandhurst way. A few but don't like the house that comes with it. :(

Hot to be well away from Flood plane too. :-\

I hear Reading's nice.

Hmmm Alton might be worth a look. :)

(That way I can pester that Wood fellow to fix stuff every 2 seconds ;D. )

Omega General Help / Re: Engine squeal

Yep mine does it, but only when cold.

Replaced;
Belt. New one made it worse.
Idler pulley for new
Pas pump for a known good one
Alternator for a recon one
...all as for separate issues but no change.

Ac works fine. Re gassed. Clutch spins freely. No excess drag when ac on.

Water pump is still the original. But no play on the bearing and it spins smoothly.

So... Does that leave a week tensioner perhaps? :-\

Should also add, its far better searching local Estate agents(Spit) sites than using Right move directly.

Double garage was top of my list. :y

Managed to tick all the other boxes in the process too. An astroturf garden would have been nice, though. ::)

Any man who comes under pressure to convert his garage to a guest bedroom needs to grow a pair and regain control of the household trousers. FFS! ::)

BMW owners Kev. No need for a garage most of em. Oh rather SIGH..... ;D
