What's missing? Or do I need to be worried?
« on: 28 March 2015, 09:29:53 »

Seen this when I was under the bonnet the other day. It looks like I'm missing a threaded screw valve of some kind.

The green liquid looks like it shouldn't be visible.

Any ideas?

Looks like the Schrader valve on the ac pipe is leaking refrigerant, then possibly the pressure has popped the grey cover cap off, perhaps?

The valve can be replaced for pence, any ac guy should be able to vac, replace valve and re gas. May as well get it checked and serviced at the same time...?

That's one of the service points for regassing the aircon, there's a black casp missing but it also seems that the valve insert is leaking

That's that sorted before the summer!

Is this the valve at front of the car? Don't be surprised if you're told it's only available as part of the pipe .... it's not though. 15mm deep-ish socket & a 17mm spanner holding the boss it's screwed to.

That's the hp valve, minus its dust cap, and leaking, can be removed and cleaned out with carb cleaner,
There is a guide in the maintenance guides :y

Thanks for the heads up - I'll see if he gives me the 'new-pipe' story. See what he says if he does and I give him the good news about the socket, spanner and carb cleaner.

More news as I have it.......

(And he ain't here yet.......Let's see if he gives me 'forgot about the clocks going forward'.................)

Valve re-seated and new cap fitted after  recycling and re-filling. It has 200 of Gas left (out of 950!) and a bit of Oil....
Now have it running at 4.8.

Too bloody cold for now >:( - but sorted for the summer. 8)

No attempts to tell me it was a new pipe needed either. :y

And he had the good taste to say how much he liked the car! :y 8) ::)
