Apple Event 10th September 2013
« on: 04 September 2013, 22:39:03 »

Here we go again  ::) 10/09/2013

Looking forward to iOS7 myself, But i very much doubt i'll get the iPhone 5S or 5C whatever it's going to be called unless it has something worthwhile with a "WOW" factor as I'm still happy with the iPhone 5 apart from battery life which hopefully iOS7 will cure doubtful i know but live in hope  ::).

Have heard rumours of a Apple Smart Watch to rival the Samsung watch and possibly a Apple TV (a actual TV not that little black box..)

any predictions ?

It won't help battery life, is my bet.

I'll update the ipad first and see, before considering the phone.

Doubt this is going to turn out to be true..

"New Feature?
This is always the part Apple seeks to surprise us on. The “One more thing..” phrase might be rested out of respect to the legend that is Steve Jobs, but, there’s got to be something that sets the 5S apart from its predecessor. I’m not convinced the gold option and the possibility of a 128GB storage are going to be enough.

Will it be a fingerprint sensor? Leaks would suggest that something is different about this iPhone’s Home Button. But, there’s no way of knowing whether it’s because it’s being quipped with a fingerprint scanning sensor, or something else. I’m almost certain that there won’t be NFC on an iPhone any time soon, and so I’m struggling to come up with anything that could resemble a new, unique selling point besides the fingerprint scanning home button. I’m happy to be surprised on this one.

Even if this fingerprint feature turns out to be true which i doubt even more after thinking if you use a iPhone case such as OtterBox which i do, This would mean taking it off or get another type of protective case, Unless obviously the people who make these cases redesign their cases to work round this somehow.

I have no reason to be concerned about a third party owning my details. But I have no reason to give them away either.

For instance work have the right to random drug test via swabs from saliva. Ok. But I don't like them keeping that info. They are an incompetent bunch of eejits at the best of times, same as most places. Why would I tust them with my swabs(DNA? or whatever) and so, why would I trust Apple with my finger prints?

No I don't think so. Personally. :)

I can just see the crApple fanboys bashing away like safari park chimps.

At the end of the day, who cares. My gayphone does what I need it to do, so can't see me buying a new one unless I break/lose mine. Which hopefully won't be before Microsoft and Google have got their respective acts together and produced a useful, usable OS.

sort of ditto...... who gives a crapple ?    i like my iphone 3GS just fine......   and my ageing irreplaceable  17" Macbook pro, (with Pci-express slot, and firewire and DVI , )  and my old tower format Mac Pro workstation....  (WITH PCI-e slots !!!  wooohoo , so i can actually use the specialist audio  DSP cards i have !!!  )

don't want an iBiscuit-Tin-Pro , that can;t interface with half the stuff i use.

don't want a stupid small screen laptop ....  when what i do "on location"  requires screen real estate AND portability....

don't need another row of icons on my phone thanks.... it makes phone calls really quite well...

iPad....   okay,   i'd quite like one, for work use,   and when the studio needs to replace it's control surface ,  i might just get one....   as it's cheaper than a new control surface.... but then i'd have to leave it at the studio......

Yeah, sadly, the crApple iPhone is the only viable smartphone for me. Still.  >:(

I can live in hope that either MS or Google will remove thumbs from arses, but won't hold my breath.

Gooseberry, is obviously a non-starter, as they will be up the Gary Glitter within 12 months, and nobody will rescue them...  ...unless MS wants to make a 2 pronged attack.

I'm not 100% sure can't remember.

Am i correct in thinking iOS7 will come with the option to update "over the air" without the need to connect to a computer if your running iOS6 and be the first time this has been available or was this option available last year and I've just gone forgetful ?

For the life of me i cant remember how i updated my last "i" device  ???

... Has been for some time now. ;)

Although mine is so far behind it can't tell if there's an update available or not. So i guess it will need iTunes if I do update.

I appreciate the build quality and stable smooth simple running of apple devices, But seriously who would do this for something which doesn't even exist as of yet  :o ;D

Who cares. Surely such a major update you'd do via gayTunes anyway. As much of anything, that helps clear out all the crap.

crApple aren't really going anywhere, haven't since iOS3 that was a major advance. 5 offered a useful slide-to-deal with notifications on the lockscreen, and I do find siri genuinely useful.
