All of the above are suffering from terrible lacquer peel so looking for replacements will no peel or rust spots.
I know I’m asking a lot but at 157,000 and running sweetly I can’t afford to spray it and can’t bear to scrap it  :'(

Thank you

I have a mint boot lid and rear bumper in Rubens Red on a 2002 saloon which are original and never been painted. The bonnet has already gone.
The boot lid has a spoiler and the bumper has parking sensors as it is a 3.2 Elite.
Depends how far you want to travel as I am in Lancashire, secondly they wouldn't be available until October (as I am away), and thirdly, I would want your old boot lid to refit on mine to keep it watertight.
PM me if you are interested.

Thanks for the reply Johnny but Lancashire is a bit far for me.

No problem. I thought it probably would be too far - the cost of the fuel would go a reasonable way towards having yours repainted.....

I’m thinking of asking a local smart repair guy to take a look at the panels. He did and truly first class job on a brand new lease car that was keyed all down the near side for under £300 last year for me.

What could I get away with to repair the peeling ? Rub down with wet n dry and new lacquer or would he have to prepare it and respray the panels ?

Such a dilemma. Car looks awful but runs so very, very well and everything works.

Thank you

It depends where the peeling is, and whether there are any bodylines where the new paint/ laquer could be lost. It also depends if it's on the lower or top part of the bumper - repairs can be easier to lose and blend in on the lower panels due to the angle of vision. Generally though it is easier to paint a larger area or whole panel than trying blend it in. Bumpers are easier for localised repairs due to all the varying angles to lose the repair, but it all depends how good your smart repair man is and how keen your eye is as well. Most smart repairs I have seen are bordering on mediocre to poor...

Bumper and boot lid are all on the top.

I just want it looking tidy.

I’ll see what he says as the job he did on my metallic black lease car was exceptional  :y

Meanwhile, I’m hanging out here to see if parts in colour turn up within a couple of hours drive away.

Cheers
