« on: 19 August 2024, 13:51:15 »

Never used one, but so many makes/models available.

Need it for a Ford KA but obviously can be used on many other cars.

Any recomendations?

General Discussion Area / Camera
« on: 26 June 2024, 17:12:34 »
With the new fangled mobile tech & having a  camera in my pocket whilst out and about I havent used my bridge camera in quite a whlle. :-\

So I came accross my camera and was planning to put the batteries on charge and check the memoery cards etc.

Was pleasantly supprised to find the battery to be fully charged, but so disapointed that the body was very tacky, so put it back in the bag to look for advice.

With all the controls on the camera I need to be carefull with it, but dont know where to start with how to clean it.

Plus for further use whats the best way to stop this happening again.

All advice welcome. :y

Is a Pint in your local?

I havent been in a Pub for years so totally out of date. :-\

But speaking to a mate who spent last week in Ireland Golfing mentioned a Pint cost 8 Euros.  So I asked what a Pint costs locally and he said our area was about a fiver.

Then on the News this morning it was mentioned that 80 pubs have been closed each month and 239 have been closed or demolished in the 1st 1/4 of this year. :-\

Just made a mistake regards a credit card payment. Was trying to pay £33.64 but paid £733.64

Also made a mistake by paying a credit card from a credit card. no big deal as both easly rectified.

But started thinking back, for example I wanted a A3 laminitor to replace my A4 version. I now have 2 A3 identical.

I keep losing/misplacing things like my wallet that is allways put away safely

Before Christmas I bought parts to build a new PC and endend up with 2.

I just Goggled alzheimer's disease and each section got a tick from me.

I feel fine, I have a lot of health issues but cope with them.

But life suddenly just got wuite scarery :'(

General Discussion Area / I Went Horse Rideing Today.
« on: 03 May 2024, 20:21:08 »
Well I'm in A&E

Today is not a good day. I decided to go horse riding. Something I haven't done for many many years. It turned out to be a big mistake! I got on the horse and we started off slowly, grew in confidence, went a little faster, before I knew it, we were going as fast as the horse could go. I couldn't take the pace and fell off, caught my foot in the stirrup with the horse dragging me behind.
It just wouldn't stop!!

Thankfully the manager at Tesco came out and unplugged the machine. He actually had the nerve to take the rest of my change so I wouldn't attempt to ride the Elephant........

How many of you actually read what I wrote? If you did, copy and paste for someone else to get a laugh! 😋😊

General Discussion Area / Vans
« on: 16 January 2024, 12:27:34 »
I posted a reply in the  welcome section regards the CF van.

At work we had a fleet of CF vans for daily deliveries and on occasions I used the works CF pickup or a CF van to go pick parts up.

1st drive in one I locked up all 4 brakes just getting used to the van (Quite impressive but totally unexpected.)   :-X

At the time I had (and passed my test in )a HA Viva van so obviously the CF was the biz with the size/more power and those brakes. ::)

As times went by the vans went FWD and the CF stopped production for things like the Rascal van. :-\

Reading a car mag one day there was an artictle about drag racing vans.  So 1st thought was a Rascal with a V8 in the rear for the rear wheels. but keep the original setup to drive it there as a FWD.

The dream never really went away and I got to know a compamy in Doncaster (BH Autokraft) who built V8 dragsters etc. After a guilded tour it seemed putting a V8 into anything was basically limited by imgination and finance. (plus ability and physical dimentions)

The finance and time have never been there for what I wanted to build, but if I had the money would I build a dragster van, Not sure.

But having seen some of the crate engines available these days and watching the American TV progs (Counts Kustoms and Gas Monkey Garage, Diesel Brothers etc)

I have seen a nice choice of engines and reckon I would stick with GM.

https://nelsonracingengines.com/collections/ls-motors

So many creative people and companies out there these days I dont know what I would build if I had the money.

Would be a choice of the van or a Bandit Trams Am at the moment. :y
