General Car Chat / Re: Stellantis to bring back diesel
« on: 17 February 2026, 12:19:31 »
If the last car on earth was made by Stellantis I'd rather walk, so not bothered what form of dead dinosaur they burn. ;D
You'll be ok, Kevin, the gay jag will be along soon  :)

I have to say I've been looking at used F-Type recently. A proper Jag. >:D. I can't really justify buying one but....... ::)

The new Jag will probably only be sold to the LGBTQ+ community. Jaguar have made it quite clear they have no interest in straight white men.

Doesn't stop him driving a 17 year old S Class though ……

There’s a 1998 (W140 as opposed to W220 I believe) Mercedes Benz S500 around our way. I don’t know the guy but he doesn’t hang about in it, which is brave considering the mpg.  ;D  He drives like he’s racing someone and he’s clearly local judging by the lines he took on the B4011 when I tagged along behind him.  ;D  I was impressed.  :y
They're pretty agile considering the sheer bulk 8)

Nowadays we take multilink suspension for.granted, but when the W140 came out it was a big deal...

My 2006 CLS 500 was decently quick considering it's cooking 5 litre V8 only churned out 306BHP.

I'd to go & buy a 7mm allen key and then later buy an 11mm allen key when I did brakes on the R Class. I went to various motor factors for them ... not a chance. Had to order off the interweb  ???

I have an old coffee tin with probably more than 100 allen keys in it. Yet to come across a size I don't have.....so far. >:D

General Car Chat / Re: E-Royal Mail Vans
« on: 14 February 2026, 11:22:34 »
Surely, I mean surely, they charge them up overnight  :-\

You're assuming that when Royal Mail's top brass decided to go electric and spent millions on a fleet of electric vans, they included charging facilities at the sorting depots in their plans?  ???    ;D

Anything that runs on elastictrickery  needs a home (or depot) charger. No home charger then forget it. Otherwise it will prove prohibitively expensive and inconvenient.

Mc Sweeney has gone.
Starmer has used him as his human shield, but that now leaves him defenseless.
If he survives to the May elections I cant see him going on any further than that.
It gets worse. It's just been reported on ITV news that Starmer is a Klingon  :o
I think that's what they said.

Speaking of 'Klingons' Stramer was recently described as wooden and emotionally constipated.

Sounds about right. :)

Are there elections in May?

They've effectively cancelled many local elections to try and bias the vote.

Take Sussex... West Sussex is predominantly right wing, Brighton is predominantly Vegan leftists. By combining West Sussex with Brighton, they've effectively neutered to Right leaning vote.

.....and the LGBTQRSTUVWXZY capital of the UK.

I got told a joke a couple of nights ago about Diane Abbott having anal bleaching , really funny but it would definitely get me banned from here, the thought of having that backside in your face is the thing nightmares are made from.

Do tell. >:D

Top speed 80MPH, or about the same as the Trotters plastic pig. 8)

Oh... Didn't spot that.  ::)   More than enough for the twisties though.  :)

But for about £4000 less you can buy a new CB1000 Hornet.  A proper bike.  :y

155 BHP for the Hornet SP. Not bad for a naked bike. :)

Fortunately the Labour Party has strength in depth.

If Starmer falls on his sword good old 'Ange' can take the reins. >:D

She's still under HMRC investigation for her tax evasion.

Streeting's mentor was one P. Mandelson.

Reeves will go with Starmer,

Cooper is useless.

So any leadership contest will probably be between Mad Red Ed Millipede and the member for Gaza & Karachi Shabana Mahmood.  ::)  :-\

I imagine that the so called 'Soft Left' are desperate to have a Labour PM who owns a vagina, and if it's a vagina of colour so much the better.  :y   :)

Red Ed can be the Chancellor and play with his abacus.  :D

I'm sure this can be overlooked. ::)

As for a 'vagina of colour' how about Dawn Butler. ::) ::)

Well if you're going down that road we may as well have Diane Abbot and have done with it:)

How about both.....two black pussies holds a certain appeal. >:D

Although perhaps not this particular pair. ::)

Honda are selling an electric motorbike the WN7 and they say it's 50kw max power power plant "produces power on par with a 600cc internal combustion engine, while generating 100Nm of torque - comparable to a 1000cc motorcycle." Sounds good.  :y

It has less than a 100 mile range though...  :-\  Although it's claimed it will charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, which I suppose is OK if your favourite ride out lunch time pub has a charger.  :)

At £12,999 it seems like an expensive toy, so maybe it's one for Lord Opti now he's an evangelical convert to EV's?   :P  ;)

https://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/electric/wn7/overview.html

What does it weigh.

If the same as a pregnant hippo then it is not worth the effort.
