I really am getting old !
I'm pretty certain camper vans ain't for me, so I suppose if I tried one for a holiday I'd know either way.
Let's guess, going to do the fabled "500" with all the other wannabe Rob Roys, and try a bit of Haggis and have a wee dram..
It isn't for you TB, trust me, all the tinkers bumbling along at 50mph, stopping without indication, O and you wait till they see anything bigger than a fly coming towards them.

« on: 24 March 2025, 15:01:24 »I drove an Audi Q7 with cameras instead of door mirrors. The screen for them was positioned at the edge of the dash by the A pillar. At the end of the journey I still hadn't got used to them as I constantly instinctively glanced where the original door mirror would have been - I think they would take a lot of getting used to, and I don't get the point of them? More to go wrong I guess....Aerodynamics? Fuel saving?
Fuel saving is about 1 egg cup full a week. I haven't spoken to any HGV driver who has said Cameras are Good,

« on: 23 March 2025, 16:37:13 »Lane departure is even more annoying activating every ignition cycle on newer cars, rather than being driver activated. Of course if you indicate on every lane change, then this overrides it, but when I was taught to drive, the standard was to only indicate if there was someone to indicate to, or could benefit from the knowledge that you intend to change of lane or direction. And on the cars I drive quite regularly, it's a faff to disable it everytime you jump in a car.
You want to drive a New HGV,,, more bong bings than chuffing Orchestra,, Lane alert,mirror alert, speeding alert, Cyclists, turning warning,aebs, up to 4 cameras to look at, and 5 mirrors, unless you have a new fanglled With camera mirrors.

Having looked at Insurance through cash back and non cash back,, it's normally cheaper via non Cash back. My argument is why not just offer the product cheaper instead of all the up selling and smoke+mirrors B.S

« on: 08 March 2025, 12:17:30 »Less than a year ago I fitted a new pair of Halfords H1 dip beam bulbs to my sons Civic.
A couple of days ago he mentioned that the n/s one had stopped working. Found a used one in the shed that worked so fitted that.
This morning he said that one isnt working now either, so fitted another one I had in the shed.
Now all four bulbs (dip and high beam) are on when headlights are switched on.
Switching to main beam changes nothing, and high beam blue tell tale light on the dash doesnt come on.
Dont know where to start to find out why.
Was originally thinking of just fitting four new bulbs, but if theres something else going on, it may blow them in no time and thats almost £50 wasted.
Im not great with electrickery, so any ideas welcomed.
Check the appropriate relay,, also might be the headlight dippy flicky bit on the steering wheel.

What ever Entitlements you have, you will retain,
A large number of Drivers I know use D4D for medical £55 all booked online.
The only thing some have noticed on renewal is iirc "section 104 or 107" it's catching a few motorhome aimers out.
