They must have access to the manufacturer original build list then (not difficult I grant you), as some vehicles have hidden towbars. I’ve had a few BMW’s with electrically fold away towbar as standard equipment, the only give-away being the button in the boot (assuming that you’re not towing at the time).  ::)

I’ve also seen on the same website, that a hardwired dashcam is classed as a modification, whereas a dashcam plugged into a 12V socket is not. Anything to wriggle out of a claim I guess.  ::)

So much is never covered on insurance (I didnt know about the dash cams) even though some mods would help with an insurance claim.

I hook 2 up in my car, I bought the hard wire kit but never fitted it. :-X

Also I reckon my tow ball has saved at least two possible claims at my last home. :y

Saw 2 different neighbors drive into my car whilst parking (Both women sad to say) one of which cost them a new bumper. ::)

Fair point, but I have never seen it as a tick box when I have renewed my insurance.

AA breakdown cover renewal. (Due 31/12/24)

Normally they send out a letter with the inflated price on it.
I then ignore it.
They ring me and we negotiate.

This year they sent 2 texts, no price info but want to talk to me about renewal.
Today some one rings, I confirm my ID.
He tells me its about renewal and am I ok to chat.

I said "Go for it" :y
He repeated him self. ::)
I repeated my self. :y

He hung up. :-\

Whats pissed me of is that they rang me on an 0800 number and when I rung back the number is unavailable.

Last year I asked for the Garage part of the service cost wise to work on a payment, they then surprised me with offering a price match on renewing the relay.  Total bill last year was less than 50% of their renewal quote.

Be interesting what they offer this year - if they dong keep hanging up. :-X
You do like a scam call don't you... ???

Thats what I thought, but the AA logo came up with the phone call. :-\

Anyways, letter arrived this morning. :y

£200 last year, £306+ this year for the whole package.

Just waiting for them to calL. ::)

Skruntie, there are much cheaper options for breakdown cover than the AA, and just as good in my opinion and experience too.  :y

I've been with Rescuemycar.com for years now and the premium is £50 for just the Mondeo, or £70 for personal/any car cover.  The sting in the tail is that you have to pay a £40 premium if you need to call them out. So if you call out your breakdown service regularly, it's not for you, but if you do, you probably need a new car anyway!  :D

I've called them out a few times over the years and always had someone with me within an hour and once got recovered from South Wales to West Dorset with no quibbles.  I had to call them out recently for the first time in years and the fella was with me in about three quarters of an hour, came with a recovery truck and was happy to recover me either home or to my destination.  :y  In the event we managed to get it started and I was on my way. I think he was a little disappointed that he didn't get a nice recovery job to fill up his shift!  ;D

Recommended!  :y

AA is actually cheaper (last year as thery price matched) its the garage repair cover that I have that bumps up the price. :y

Had one a few years ago. :(

Was talked through the whole thing.  They said there would be a tight spot and gave me the option to watch it all on a monitor.

Worse part for me was stripping off completely. :-\

All staff were super efficient and polite. :y

Take some wet wipes, better than just the tissues as they give a basic wipe clean. (KY Jelly)

Doesn't take long.

Results were confirmed with in a week.  (Unlike my MRI Scan - Scanned on 2nd Sept,  Still waiting for the results and that's after 4 phone calls to the hospital)

Not easy to say to anyone but mine was 100% a positive experience after all the stress I put myself under.

Hope all your female nurses were as cute as mine were. ::) ::) :y :y

Hope your health improves Skruntie.  :y

Thank you.  Sadly I doubt it will.

The list gets longer and the meds keep getting added to.

However I am in a better condition than I was 15 years ago. I was on 42 tablets a day with different problems, today I manage on a minimum of 8 plus upto an extra 8 pain killers if required. :-\

I just plod on and stay positive. :y

At 63 years of age I cant complain, after a bad accident at the age of 10  I overheard doctors & nurses saying I wouldn't see my 21st birthday. saw my 42nd birthday, then 63rd, now looking towards my 84th, not sure about my 105th :-\

Still here to moan about it, not as much hair, and different body parts keep giving grief.

Sadly my little Lituanian friend that lived in Tenerefe passed away last year at the age 34 so that was a sharp reminder to be carefull and look after myself. :y

Cheers, still drives like a dream. :y
At only 95 miles only year, do you go far enough to find out?  ;) Oh, congrats on the pass too.

Bad health this year.

MOT last year.
Used once in May.
Started it Tuesday and took it for a run to charge the battery.and get it washed.
MOT this year.

Has averaged 1000+ miles a year (13K 12 years).  When used I do 40/50 miles a trip and just go for a drive in the country side, very rarely tops 60mph.
