Don't worry James, that was three years ago for a Staff role in Fleet support.  :y

At least in aviation everyone is able to be themselves without having to rub everyone else's face in it. So much so that it isn't even a thing.

It is a bit of a cliche but I genuinely believe we have lived in the best times ever.

Improved health, jobs, not too much war. Good tech and developments.

I am glad we haven’t got children.

It's a really pity what has happened to the Police & the Prison Service why it has got an to be this state is beyond me, but thankfully I'm out of it I have every sympathy with our  Police force even more so as our Son is in it.

What pisses me off?

People who drive at 40mph in a 60 limit on dry, quiet roads when there are no overtaking spots.

People hogging the middle or outside lane of a motorway, taking ten miles to overtake one vehicle. Get out of the f*** way.

People who pull out from lane 1-2 or 2-3 at around 55mph and don’t seem to have any perception at all of the speed of the traffic which is just about to pass them and has to either slow down or make a rapid lane change.

I am so pissed off with the awful standard of driving on todays roads that I often prefer to get the ficking train!

Oh and the green lentil eating brigade piss me off too.

I got told I was a “disgrace” in a petrol station not that long ago, when some no doubt vegan saw me put £200 worth of super unleaded in my 21 year old, 4.4 litre V8 15MPG Range Rover, before they no doubt went on to pay for their “plant based” baguette.

Oh. And petrol stations. The morons that pull up to a pump. Take forever ficking around to fill up. Then unstrap about 4 kids, and go into the shop with them. Spend 6 hours buying lattes and their weekly shop in the attached M+S, saunter back to the car, carefully organise it all into the boot. Spent another hour strapping in their offspring. Finally crawl off the forecourt, so I can bung some petrol in and pay at the pump (all within about 3 minutes).

What else pisses me off?

People being told to list their “pronouns”. My names James (use it) and I’m clearly a bloke and therefore a him. If others feel the need to stipulate their pronouns, that’s a matter for them - but don’t force me to do it.

Doctors surgeries piss me off too. I’ve had to use them a lot recently, and it infuriates me that you can’t book in advance. “You have to call at 8am on the day” … yeah, and sit in a queue for an hour in hold and then be told there are no appointments left and to try again (and no doubt get the same answer) tomorrow.

What also pisses me off is the camera phone wielding brigade. People film in all sorts of places, I don’t want to be in your bloody videos or social media pages when I’m out socialising.

Political correctness. It’s gone mad.

The attitude towards men.  Since that monster PC in the met committed his horrendous crimes, it seems that pretty much every man in society is considered a rapist or murderer and will use “violence against women and girls”. Most single blokes I know now are too scared to even say hello to a woman in public for fear of being tarred with that brush. (Can I even use that expression in 2023?)

I sent an email a while ago (not at work) and was challenged by the recipient because I said something was “in black and white” (very obviously meaning it was written down in back ink on white paper).

I was told it was inappropriate and had “racial connotations”.

The world has absolutely lost its way, and I’m frankly sick of it!

This is without a doubt the best post I've ever read on this forum it sums up perfectly the thoughts of most " sensible" people, thanks for brightening my day up..👍

I agree.

The pronoun boll*ocks is essentially a white middle class guilt thing for those who regularly pay £5 for a cup of coffee in Chelsea and believe that 600 BHP V8's  meat eaters are equally evil.

The black and Asian people don't go for pronouns and neither do the white working class.

I recently had an email from Octopussy from somebody called Luke complete with he/him pronouns. OFFS.

Soon be twelfth night and still have xmas cards not delivered yet…..

What do you do with cards that arrive to late!

I've told people that  Christmas cards WERE sent out and it's not my fault they haven't arrived.

Saved me a fortune on postage with stamps being the price they are. :)

Ha!  I had an elderly cousin who was in her 90's living in a care home in Kings Lynn, and I used to go and see her once or twice a year to see that she was being properly looked after and also because no one else bothered.  :)

After one visit I rang another elderly rellie to report that she was OK and the old prick said to me quite acidly "You do know that she's leaving all the money to the church don't you?"   ::)

After a couple of years in a home for the terminally bewildered there will be very little money left for the church.

Nope, what was left over indeed went to the church and I knew that anyway. There might have been a bit towards the new roof.  :)

I'm going to buy a beige cardigan with wooden buttons and lament the passing of national service.
