I thought the mobile companies were crying out for income!

As some might know I use my old nokia mobile and have been on sim only with vodaphone for over a year, after my contract with them ran out.

Basically, I was on contract on the 18 STC tariff. When thhis contract ran out I was called by vodaphone and asked if I wanted to update. At this point I said that I actually wanted to cancel the contract because I wasn't using what I was paying for.

The convo went something like, "Well what do you actually use?". I said about 100 mins and a couple of texts a month. So the operator says, "We can do 100 mins and 100 texts for £10. 30 day rolling contract". So I agreed.

Since that time I have bbeen billed on the 18STC tariff with a discount applied, bringing the payment down to £9.97.

Lately I have been thinking I want email or web access. Logged onto vodaphone's site and tried to change my price plan to a suitable one ( costing me more naturally) and I get a message saying I cannnot change the plan while under contract!!!

After a few mails to and from Vodaphone, they tell me I am under a 25 month contract expiring December this year (25 ?? Not 24 !! ). I told them to prove it and they said they'd send me a hard copy (11 days ago -- still not arrived!).

Anyway yesterday I told them I want a hard copy within 7 days or to take the mail as termination of this supposed contract which doesn't exist ... and a PAC number !

Don't these guys want extra money ????

Guess I am off to Orange
