FOR YOUR INFORMATION

A recording cannot be set for this programme

I have probs recording films. I think I have taken off every parental control but, just before a film starts, it asks for my PIN. OK if I want to watch it then, but not if I want to record.

i thought it asked for the pin when you want to watch the recording? if the film certificate warrants it of course.

I have winged to sky re pin, they could be sued by parents if kids watch an unsuitable film, so a level of restriction remains, bloody annoying esp. as we dont have kids.

I record via scart to a DVD recorder.

At the end of the day they are made to a budget, cheaper the better. Maximize profits, you know you would do the same  ;)

We certainly do maximise profits Tunnie, but we won't consider maximising profits at the expense of pissing the end user off - and we certainly won't piss them off further by making them talk to someone (on a premium rate phone line) who is based 3000+ miles away and can't understand basic f**king english when a problem does arise through the use of cheap shit that the customer is paying through the nose for  ;)

You know full well that the phone is answered in Mumbai and they try their best to keep the call there.
Ask to be put through to someone in the UK and the answer is "we can't put you through directly, if you want someone in the UK then you will have to call back and try again"........funny how the f**kers can put you straight through to Livingstone with absolutely no delay when you tell them you are leaving though  ;)

Most companies give their staff a number to ring that isn't supposed to be known by Joe Public, so what?

Truth is that a very high percentage of companies that hold a monopoly don't give a toss what their customers do, until you tell them you will turn up in person and then actually see it through ;)

Maybe the box is better Martin.

I prefer the channel options  though.

In all honesty, if Cable was available to me Sky would be long gone, but thier dish would then be handy for freesat, at sky's original exspence.

Just cant see us ever getting cable. :-/ :'(

I have two Thomson HD boxes here which now perform without fault since I changed the PSU's in each.

The only thing I don't like about them is the way they have positioned the disc above the system board.  The Pace box mounts this, much more sensibily, to the side of it.

Mine is an Amstrad, no issue's with it other than it takes 2 or 3 attempts to power up after a power cut. and the hard drive is tooooooooooooo small, and I cant use any of the sockets, RJ35, USB etc.

HUMAX box will be added at come stage, also a twin Freesat DVD/R, as soon as the sky box warranty tuns out that will get a 1TB drive fitted. Maybe even bigger.

There is plenty enough to watch on TV without 5000 channels.

I watch 2 to 4 hours a night at most
