Just did internet search and came up with quite a few places in South west area.

Assuming you mean 'cheap paintwork' job though ?.

Not "cheap" but not exhorbitant!  I have foud a few places via Google --- but wondered if anyone nearby knew of anybody reasonably competent.  Even the poshest looking shops sometimes cover a car in "orange peel".

Like you've said, posh shops don't always mean a stunning job.
Flash shop means they've spent a mint in looking like they know what they're doing, but because they've spent a lot on that side, it means to keep it looking good, it'll be expensive to get the work done  :o .

May be worth visiting a few places that you think are up to the job, asking them if any previous customers are willing to speak for their work that you could speak to and see the actual vehicle.  Also try to chat to the actual sprayer if you can, as their the one laying the paint on your car, so if you don't think you can trust to leave your with them then don't chap.

Other way maybe do a search for custom paint forums to see if anyone speaks highly of work your way ?.  :y
