Anyone willing to help change a gearbox this w/e ?
« on: 27 February 2008, 01:32:21 »

Hi guys,

I am hoping to pickup a new gearbox this week and I want to try and fit it (along with the diff bolts that fell out) this weekend.

However I have never changed an auto box before and my wife is fantastic at everything BUT car maintenance (I have to say that its my anniversary   ;)

Is there anyone with experience willing to help on saturday for a handful of beer tokens...

I think a day will do, no?

I'd love to as I am intending changing mine in the early summer as well but Wiltshire is a bit of a way from me.

Could you bring it round here?!

MMM...   Tidworth .... drives an Omega (ie. Is discerning and has exquisite taste ) ... must be a WO1 .. :)

Just order a few "lads" who have "misbehaved" to do it, instead of a quick visit behind the gym....   :)

I would love to but:

a) My old unit based in Tidworth has now moved up north, and
b) As a tight arsed rupert it would cost me too much in beer slabs to coerce unwitting grunts (they are switched onto it now  :-[ ) using it as punishment is an abuse of power, apparently....  ::) ::)

Please delete all references to "discerning and exquisite taste" such things are only found in the "proper" Mess   :)

One wonders how such a person discovered the Omega ... must have been a kindly WO1 giving him a lift one day ..  :)
