« on: 07 September 2007, 13:55:45 »

Hi,

Is there a hand book/manual for a carin sat nav.

As i don't have one i keep forgetting how to work it.

Works ok on postcodes, (1st 4)  but how do i add the address to the sat nav.

Cheers. :)

Dave c, i found this, is this what we need for a 2007 disc?

Looks promising, they'll only post to Poland and theres no P&P charges.....  we'll keep an eye out for a UK sale eh?

OK rather than start a new thread I will add my interest to this topic. My "S" Reg has the Carin and is still the original disk and system...... only accepts road input. If there are any updates/upgrades I can make to this to allow postcode and newer road mapping I am interested to hear.

Hi Snapper,

Ok there is an update disc called Version 4.60 for Carin 520/522.

I found another up date disc which i just bought of ebay, Version 4.90 for Carin 520/522.

Try you postcode 1st, example ZB89 7GF.

Go to Destination Input, press enter.

City, Road, Junction, press enter.

City comes up, this is when i put a postcode in i.e., ZB89 7 then go to list. (don't enter GF) roads should come up on your screen.

If you still have no luck, i can post you version 4.60.
Please, please understand i can't take responsibility should this Version damage your Carin Sat Nav.

All you will need to do is cover the postage both ways.

Rember, don't fix what isn't broken

I'm sure you said yours is a Carin, as some systems changed to Siemens, i don't no the difference.

I tried to enter the post code as suggested but I found that my old style system wont accept anything like that. If you start an entry that is not a " Name "  and has characters  like SS at the start it blanks out the second "S" in the selection. Pity the darn Map disks are so expensive as many of the new roads in this area are not shown ........ the A13 into London for example makes the system think your 4x4 in a farm field !

Find the Post Code? You just type the post code in at the beginning where it asks for CITY/ROAD/JUNCTION. It won't let you put the last bit in though and when I've then asked it to find the road within the part of post code I've put in it can't find it, so you then have to do it the long way anyway.
