I am looking at buying a parrot CK3100 handsfree kit for the car, now i am under the impression that the Elites came prewired for a handsfree kit that mutes the stereo, but would that utilise the stereo speakers?

In the past i have seen a 4 pin connector up behind the glovebox and i do relmember ripping out a power unit for a nokia car kit when i first got the car, although it wasnt wired into the electrics

My PRE face lift did even though it has a CCRT700 - I've seen the plugwiring in the boot.

Some were - 16 pin plug taped up above glovebox.  The aerial, if you need it, is in the drivers kick panel, so need to extend to kit.

Would this channel the phone through the speakers orr would i need a standalone one for that?

Put a parrot 3000 in mine recently, connecting the audio loom to the prewire wouldn't activate the muting. Installed with the parrot speaker in footwell and all is good.
Mutes when in use and audio from kit speaker.
It was suggested that the muting line wasn't grounding correctly but I haven't explored further as yet.

my nokia kits have worked as expected on the prewire loom. so much better than crapping extra speakers.

I've just fitted a Parrot CK3200LS in my Omega and used the following wires...

Wiring on the pre-wired plug is as follows...

Red  +ve

Black  +ve (switched from ignition)

Black  mute - yes there are two blacks - use a voltmeter to prove you are using the correct one!

Brown and Blue wires (twisted) line in to head unit.

Brown  -ve (thicker brown than the line in Brown)

There are 2 browns and 2 blacks in the wiring loom. If in doubt use a meter to prove you are connecting to the correct wires.

Wires from the parrot unit are self explanatory and should be labelled.

No need to intercept the speaker connections as radio is muted and audio passed through head unit. Audio can be set on head unit for required input volume.

Antenna connection not required as no physical connection exists between handset and parrot device so handset antenna is used.

fitted it last night.......grrrr

decided to use the ISO connectors, wish i hadn't as there is no room alread.

found that the fade on the stereo when the call ends creates a load screech and whilst the call is in progress there is still music in the background, is this normal?

Does your head unit have Bose? You need an in-line filter if it has.

yes it is a bose system.....

inline filter? would this go on the line in connectors?

Yes I think it does, I bought a 06-109B Autolead for mine (I have the 2013 Head Unit), the filter is required because of the bose. Not sure which Head Unit you have but if you have a look at the forum on http://www.siocommunications.co.uk there'll be some advice on there.

It also took me a while to get the phone volume, car kit volume and Head Unit Volume set right.

when a call comes in the display should show up as message, mine doesn't.

I have the CCD2006, if the kit is fitted I should be able to chance the head unit input volume for the car kit, I have followed the audio instructions but nothing

the last thing I want to do is pull that stereo out any more, the front is getting a bit fragile now....
